Gowalmandi Food Street — Restaurant in Mississauga

First visit for dinner was amazing. They have one of the best Karahi in town, way better than some restaurants that have word "Karahi" as part of their name. The manager, Azhar, is chef also who came out to ask us about food quality & any comments. We tried their chicken Karahi, chana masala, burger, kabab roll & masala fries. Food was freshly prepared & was proper spicy as we ordered.

This location was Student Biryani couple months ago that has been renovated & nicely decorated inside with comfortable seating.

Highly recommended place.

Dinner on Aug 30, 2022. Orderd Nehari that came with lots of meat leaving little room for Nehari itself but the meat wasn't tender that wasn't good thing. Complained this to the owner who took it very lightly & didn't even appear to feel bad about it 😐 Another issue I noticed was that the plates were so cold that Nihari lost whatever warmth it had the moment you put it in the dish. Review of Gawal Mandi Restaurant

I recently visited Gawal Mandi, a Pakistani restaurant I had heard a lot about, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.

The ambiance of the restaurant was decent, offering a traditional Pakistani vibe that initially raised my expectations. However, the quality of the food left much to be desired.

The Chicken Karahi, which is usually a staple in any Pakistani meal, was undercooked. The chicken was tough and lacked the rich, well-blended flavors that this dish is known for. It seemed like it hadn’t been given enough time to cook properly, leading to an unpleasant dining experience.

Additionally, the other items we ordered were soggy and lacked the freshness that I had hoped for. The naan was also not up to par, arriving at the table cold and chewy instead of warm and fluffy.

Overall, Gawal Mandi fell short of expectations, particularly with the undercooked Chicken Karahi and the soggy, uninspired sides. It might have potential if they work on improving the quality and preparation of their dishes, but based on this visit, I would not...

We went to gowalmandi for the first time on May 17. We called them at 6 to book an table for 8 people.on a sunday. Chef azhar who is also the owner of the restaurant picked the phone. We inquired as it was a new place. Mr azhar very kindlt guided us that they serve authentic Pakistani cuisine which he has learnt from his native town Gujranwala. He took our order before we reqched the order was ready at 7 .30 pm. this was the first best thing. After that came the quantity. As advised we ordered deals 2 deals for 5 people. The deals had resshmi kabab, bihari kabab, fish, chicken karhai , biryani and kheer. The quantity was so much that we had to pack stuff and bring it back. The quality was amazing. Everything was cooked near to oerfection as bihari kababs were soft and not very hard, reshmi kababs were soft , fish was so good.my daughter had fish that day only and she is at times oicky at restaurnts.
