**First of all, Kutum Team, I must appreciate the fact that you have positioned your restaurant as Bangladeshi fusion. This was a bold and risky move, as most Bangladeshi restaurant owners I have seen in various parts of the world hesitate to associate themselves with Bangladeshi cuisine. Many fear that other ethnic communities may not be familiar with Bangladesh, making it risky to brand their restaurant as something like Bangladeshi–French fusion. After all, it’s a business decision. Salute to you for proudly representing Bangladesh and creating a name for it out there. 10/10 for business authenticity and genuineness. Secondly, the tacos were excellent! I could taste jhuri mangsho flavors in the beef taco, beautifully blended with a Mexican touch. The shrimp taco felt like dupiyaju chingri infused with Mexican salsa. Absolutely delightful — I highly recommend them. A small suggestion: please be a bit more attentive with seasoning in the chicken platter, though the beef platter was very good. In fact, you should consider creating a separate section on your menu for pure Bangladeshi flavors — like the beef — so people can enjoy that authentic taste as well. Overall, well done, guys! I would highly recommend everyone to visit Kutum, support them, and help them grow even better. My unbiased rating: 4.5/5.**

A Must-Try Spot in Montreal! We flew in from Edmonton to explore Montreal and Kutum was high on our list—and it did not disappoint! It was our first time trying it and we had the beef tapas, beef rice bowl, and shakshuka. Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. The space itself is quiet and cozy, with a warm, welcoming vibe from the host that made us feel right at home. Our food arrived timely and nothing felt rushed—the quality and attention to detail really stood out. We loved how the menu offered a unique fusion of Bangladeshi flavors with a twist. Portions were just right, and the taste? Absolutely worth the hype. If you’re in Montreal, Kutum is a must-visit—especially if you want to support a local, hardworking business that’s delivering something truly special and delicious!

An Amazing Bengali-French Fusion Gem in Montreal! I recently visited Kutum and was absolutely blown away. It's a fantastic new restaurant bringing a unique Bengali-French fusion to Montreal. From the moment I walked in, I loved the atmosphere. The decoration is beautiful and they have a great music system, which all adds up to a really enjoyable dining experience. The food was delicious, and I was so impressed with the creative (and tasty!) way they blend Bengali and French cuisines. But what I appreciate the most is the owner's wonderful initiative to introduce Bengali cuisine to the local community here in Montreal. It's also a huge plus that the restaurant is halal, which is fantastic to see. I highly recommend Kutum to anyone looking for a special and delicious meal. A true gem in the city!

Ordered a chicken wrap which had almost no chicken in it. Explained to the staff and asked if they could add chicken to make it an actual chicken wrap. They explained they would make me a new wrap with the exact same ingredients, but would not add chicken or make a new wrap with any additional chicken. I suggested just adding a little more chicken to my wrap rather than making an entire new wrap (cheaper and easier solution) and was told that is impossible to do. They will NOT add a little more chicken, they will only make a brand new wrap, with the same very small amount of chicken, no extra allowed. I was then asked to leave the restaurant when I tried to explain the broken logic they were using. Really terrible customer service and a really chickenless chicken wrap. I spoke very calmly, did not raise my voice and was not rude in any way. In fact I was shocked into near silence at the lack of reason on display. I didn’t want them to waste more resources making an entire wrap… or to refund me, just a little bit of chicken to make the chicken wrap an actual chicken wrap. Would not recommend.

After I posted this review they have replied and are now lying saying that I raised my voice, which is a blatant lie. Bizarre behaviour for...

We heard a lot of good things about this place and went with the family to try. We sat inside as it was too hot. There was only one person who is doing everything in the front. She didn't mention about the items that are not available while giving the menu card. It took them a while to prepare the food and not everything came at the same time. There was a good 25 to 30 mins between the serving of first and the last dish. Most of the items were a bit salty. I was very disappointed to see slices of plain white bread with the omelette. For the washroom you have to go through the kitchen which is kind of awkward. Everytime we had to ask for normal regular things like water, napkins and utensils. The overall service could be improved a lot. Being the only person in the front also doesn't help when clearly they are not professionals. Hopefully they can quickly improve in those areas to better serve...
