Dear Real Fruit Juice Management,

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service my husband and I received at your Pickering Centre location on August 8th. I have been a frequent customer at several Scarborough-area outlets and have always enjoyed the experience; however, this visit was by far the most disappointing and unprofessional encounter I have ever had at any of your branches.

When we arrived, there were no other customers, and three staff members were present. Prior to placing our order, my husband politely requested that the drink be prepared with less ice to avoid it becoming watery. Staff Member 1 responded curtly, stating, “Well, it’s pre-made and we cannot change the recipe.” Staff Member 2 then added, “OK, it won’t be watery,” but in an unwelcoming, dismissive tone.

When our order was served, the drink was indeed watery. Upon pointing this out, my husband explained that he had ordered the same drink many times before and it had never been like this. Staff Member 2 replied, “This is how it’s supposed to be,” in an extremely rude manner, as though we were receiving the product free of charge. Immediately afterward, both male staff members began speaking to each other in their native language and laughing while looking at us—an action that was highly unprofessional and disrespectful.

When my husband addressed the rudeness, Staff Member 2 handed over the drink and walked away without another word. A female staff member, who had witnessed the entire incident, showed no reaction and, when questioned about her colleague’s conduct, simply responded, “I don’t know.”

This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. As paying customers, we expect to be treated with basic respect and courtesy. The behavior of this team not only reflects poorly on this particular location but also risks damaging your brand’s reputation.

I urge you to investigate this matter seriously, take appropriate corrective action with the staff involved, and ensure that proper customer service standards are enforced moving forward. If incidents like this continue unchecked, I am certain many customers will take their business elsewhere.

Ok I’m picky when it comes to… everything lol. So when I say this place might just have the best boba in Durham, please believe me. I’m a fan of slushy roe smoothie drink with tapioca. Getting the right consistency is usually the let down at certain places. But never here. It perfectly blended and melts exactly how it should.

Now why I couldn’t give 5⭐️. The service can be up and down. Some days I go, the person knees exactly what I’m asking for and allows me to customize my drink (I custom everything lol). But quite a few times I’ve gone, the cashier doesn’t even want to have a conversation about my order. I get the impression they want me to pick something from the menu and move the heck on. This is a huge no no for me.

Second reason, and this might have a business explanation but why am I being charged extra for tapioca… is already a bubble tea, the bubbles are to be included anyway. I think it’s a shameful cash grab. But I also don’t own a boba tea… YET🙏
