So we were out and about in coquitlam hiking and we worked up quite the appetite. Searching for somewhere online we came across this restaurant and agreed a buffet sounded very satiating after our hike. On the way, I accidentally drove passed it while trying to find it, but it was an easy quick drive around the block. We are there and inside see the sign to reserve your spot or there could be a long wait. I figured we were gonna be sitting there waiting for awhile until I saw that there were two sections for people to sit and we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress proceeded taking our drink orders and we were able to go up and get our food from the buffet! There was a decent selection there. The food was presented well in the heat trays with a variety of vegetables all the colors made it all look mouth watering. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to get wonton soup! It was overall amazing. The restaurant was well kept, the staff were very hospitable, and the food was delicious. The only two things that could be better were the rolls, it had a nice crunchy outside, but the inside, the texture was mushy; It still tasted fine. The second thing that could have been better, which isn't their fault at all, is the fortune cookies. They were just presented on the bill tray prepackaged. Overall it was awesome, I will be back and I will be recommending this place to anyone I know. Thank you for having us! P.S the price for the buffet is...
Read moreDoes anyone remember Foodie Goodie? This Chinese buffet has similar vibes just on a smaller scale. It’s a cozy and affordable Chinese Buffet. The experience is like going to a mall food court Chinese stall but having access to all their dishes in an ayce setup with ice cream and desserts included.
Every item I tried was solid and delicious. Highlights were the meaty wontons in the wonton soup, the flavourful green beans, the saucy sesame chicken, and the sweet and sour pork. They also have ayce deep fried chicken wings!
There is one large row of hot buffet items and there is one row of cold buffet items. Other dishes offered in the buffet were spring rolls, teriyaki chicken, fried wide rice noodles, fried rice, chow mein, multiple vegetable stir frys, French fries, mapo tofu, watermelon, honeydew, jellos, self serve ice cream, Caesar salad, dessert squares, fried shrimp, and more!
They have a 10% off promotion if you show their ad until September 12th, 2024 but they don’t add this automatically and we forgot to show them ahead of time and discovered they do not automatically add this discount unless you request it during this promotion period with the ad before you pay so if you have the ad, make sure you show it at the beginning of the meal before you eat!
Would totally come back again if craving a solid affordable...
Read moreWow! Finally we have a chinese buffet back! The closest one were china kitchen in maple ridge and madarin garden in abbotsford.
I'd say things are pretty standard for a chinese buffet. Hot and sour soup was good. Wonton soup was tasteless. Green beans were fantastic. The sweet and sour pork early on was good when crunchy but quickly got soggy. They need to fry it longer so that it can sit in the sauce longer without getting soggy. Deep fried chicken wings were delicious and this is missing from the other chinese buffets. The chow mein and fried rice were lacking - not enough wok hei, so it was kinda soggy. Salt and hot pepper shrimp were ok.
For desserts they have the store bought mini strudels, two bite brownies, and some more, and also vanilla and chocolate ice cream. They need to work on their ice cream scoop hygiene cuz it sits in still water. They give fortune cookies with the bill but they were stale.
They have a promotion right now until Sept 12 - 10% off so original price of 23.95 becomes 21.56 which is on par with the other chinese buffets. I've attached the flyer that you need to show to get the 10% off.
I would definitely come back again while the promotion...
