So, the food has a great flavour, service was good and I really liked the mexican aesthetics in there. Would I call it authentic mexican food? Nope. It's more like a fusion with tex mex. Did I enjoyed my chorizo empanadas? Absolutely! Portion was very decent, right amount of spicyness and tons of flavour. Someone else order taquitos and I have to say that the beans tasted really good. Those taquitos are decently spicy, maybe too much for someone that is not used to spicy food. I was very excited when I read in the menu that they offer traditional churros, but although they were tasty, again, not what you'd expect if you ever have ate mexican churros. I had the horchata drink and I loved it. A little pricey, so definitely something to consider before hand, but overall, a good experience.

Surprised the doors were open. Walked into the doors & sat ourself at the bar. The bartender was wearing a Tuque & didn’t care we existed. He pushed frozen cocktails which was all the “craft” menu was. We ordered a couple that weren’t which one was ok & the other was poor quality: we told another staff member the mezcal cocktail wasn’t up to standard for the price & he said we couldn’t get something in exchange. But insisted we ordered a frozen cocktail out of a machine which was frosted over which means… it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks… which means the product is moldy. As a favourite cocktail to recommend it’s sad. We told to bartender once he arrived it was our time to depart & nothing he provided was worth payment. Hopefully the owners find a new calling.

I've been frequenting the Great White North for some time now. As of late I have been very impressed by the quality and the variety of restaurants in this town. El Tres is another great example of said statement. I ordered the taco plater which allows one to sample one of each of the tacos available on the menu. The dish was so attractive and aromatic that I totally forgot to take a picture. This is not the first time this has happened. I was also very happy to see that ONLY Local Beers where available on Tap. The decor felt right and the crowd was lively for a Tuesday night. Finally, the wait staff was very chatty while maintaining a professional deportment. As always, don't forget to tip your waitstaff. Cheers!

The culinary scene has certainly changed from my Lakehead University days! El Tres - was a delightful experience! Located on Red River Road (Port Arthur), it offers up a wonderfully uncomplicated menu. You’ll be sure to find something that fills those cravings! While I kept things simple with some local craft beer (Lake of the Woods Kolsch), there is a good selection of cocktails and wine. The food , from the opening round of chips and guacamole, to the flautas, to the esquites, to the fish tacos, inspired and transported you away. The service was engaging, and entertaining! If you have a craving for Mexican, then be sure to visit El Tres!

Thunder Bay's only authentic Mexican restaurant (I think). You won't find "hard tacos" here..that's not a real taco.but you'll find hearty corn tortilla tacos filled with plump fried fish, or spicy veggies or beef brisket. (I think other options exist as well). If you order the chips and salsas, you can expect never ending bowls of their house made tortilla chips with 3 types of salsas. The wings don't come with traditional bbq sauces, but two types of hot sauce, or plain. The empanada looked very big and filling as well. Everything tasted great, and the service was even better, very attentive. A guest said the margaritas there are the best.

MUCHO AMAZING! Probably used that Spanish word wrong but this was very amazing - from the service to the food it was awesome! Our server was fabulous - we saw on Instagram he won best server award in Thunder Bay this year that’s so cool but very well deserved he was excellent! Tentative, friendly, helpful, and made an excellent recommendation on the tequila! Our food was also top notch! We only had drinks and appetizers but we will definitely be returning for meals! Also appreciated the branding and overall look and feel of the place and even the down to the cute side plates! 👏🏼 We had such a great time here - would highly recommend!!
