Had a good time with friends and family at this restaurant last week. We ordered multiple dishes. Being a vegetarian i found many options i wished i could order everything off the menu after trying the very first dish. The place is kids friendly with a good ambiance. Kudos to the front of the house team and the chefs.
Detailed review is as below:
Dish 1: Maharaja Kaju Paneer Masala The Maharaja Kaju Paneer Masala at Mehfill Indian Cuisine is an indulgent treat for those who enjoy rich and creamy dishes. The paneer is wonderfully soft, absorbing the flavorful masala sauce that's laden with cashew nuts, adding a delightful crunch to each bite. The sauce is perfectly balanced, not too spicy but with enough warmth to make the flavors pop. The blend of spices is exquisite, showcasing the chef's skill in creating a harmonious dish that's both comforting and luxurious. This dish pairs excellently with their fresh naan or jeera rice, making it a standout on the menu.
Dish 2: Dal Makhni Mehfill's Dal Makhni is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to traditional Indian flavors. Slow-cooked to perfection, the black lentils are soft and enveloped in a rich, creamy sauce that speaks volumes of the hours spent in preparation. The smoky undertones and the buttery finish make each spoonful a delight. It's neither overly spiced nor bland; the balance is just right, allowing the natural flavors of the lentils and the creaminess to shine through. Whether paired with rice or enjoyed with naan, this dish is a must-try for anyone who appreciates classic Indian cuisine.
Overall Experience Mehfill Indian Cuisine excels in delivering authentic and flavorful dishes. Both the Maharaja Kaju Paneer Masala and the Dal Makhni are perfect examples of their dedication to quality and tradition. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it an excellent place for both casual dining and special occasions. Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying Mehfill Indian Cuisine's Chicken Chilli Momos, panner lababdar and veg biryani and they exceeded my expectations in every way. These momos, a delightful fusion of Indian and Nepali culinary traditions, offer a unique and flavorful experience that stands out.
Chicken Chilli Momos The Chicken Chilli Momos at Mehfill Indian Cuisine are a delightful fusion of Indo-Chinese flavors. The momos are perfectly steamed with a tender and juicy chicken filling, which is well-seasoned and flavorful. The highlight is the spicy chilli sauce coating the momos, adding a robust kick without overwhelming the palate. They are a fantastic starter, offering a good balance of heat and taste that leaves you craving more.
Paneer Lababdar The Paneer Lababdar is a rich and creamy delight. The paneer cubes are soft and fresh, soaking up the luscious, tomato-based gravy beautifully. The sauce is aromatic, with a perfect blend of spices that makes each bite a burst of flavors. The dish is garnished with a touch of cream, adding to its indulgent texture. It's an excellent choice for those who enjoy a mildly spiced, yet flavorful, vegetarian curry.
Veg Biryani The Veg Biryani is a fragrant and colorful dish that does not disappoint. Each grain of rice is cooked to perfection and infused with aromatic spices. The assortment of vegetables is fresh and adds a nice crunch and variety to the dish. The biryani is well-balanced, not too oily, and the flavors are nicely melded together. It's accompanied by a side of raita, which complements the spices of the biryani well, providing a cooling contrast.
Overall Experience Mehfill Indian Cuisine offers a delightful experience with its varied menu, showcasing both traditional and fusion dishes. The flavors are authentic, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation is inviting. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal. Read more7 Stars for service and attitude of the owner, Gaurav!
5 stars for the food
We went by chance as originally we had gone next door to pick up some vegan pizzas and bumped into Gaurav, the young enterprising owner of Mehfill.
Started talking and decided to check it out whiles waiting for the pizza.
We decided to try out a few vegan dishes whiles waiting 😋😅 and were blown away by the taste, freshness textures and spice blends of the dishes. Simply incredible.
On top of it Gaurav didn’t let us pay.
I’ve never been so welcomed and made to feel so special in any restaurant ever !!!
This felt like going to a close friends home for a meal. Thank you Gaurav for serving with your heart ❤️ This amazing attitude and awesome food made us go back within a week to eat a meal in the restaurant. Which was as expected….. wonderful 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Luck by chance we went back to the beaches area on Mother’s Day so we picked up a takeout parcel.
Mehfill is simply irresistible, maybe it’s the food or the unbeatable hospitality.
The spices are distinctive, having a touch of Indore ( a city in india) they are freshly roasted and ground making the food taste even more better. No two dishes taste same, so that’s a clever way of cooking. The starters are delicious, the Palak patta chaat is crunchy and different. We loved it!! They serve Vegan food which is a blessing for us. Hopefully in the near future they shall be starting a full Vegan Menu. Looking forward to to that Gaurav. Overall Mehfill is on its way to becoming one of the better Indian food restaurant in Toronto. Specially with the owner’s attitude towards service and hospitality. He’s incredibly generous and it’s reflected in the food. It’s cooked with love. Would highly recommend this restaurant for some Amazing freshly prepared and Indian...
