Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Toronto

There is an off or foul smell coming from the chicken. Because of this I stopped going about 3 months ago. Today I decided to go back thinking maybe it would be better. I was wrong. Bought three pieces of chicken and a side. Came home and immediately smelled the chicken. Foul smell still there. I opened the chicken up with my fork and smelled again ..... still the off smell.

I don't know what's going on. I don't know if it is old grease, old chicken or what. I wasn't going to say anything but I read another Google Review with the exact same issue .... bad taste bad smell.

I love Popeye's Chicken. It is so disappointing that this bad smell is happening.

Went back to see with new management changes if there were improvements. Nervously ordered the chicken but was pleasantly surprised. No foul smell. Chicken was hot, fresh, crispy and good. Had to wait 12 minutes but other than that the experience was awesome. I'm very happy. Will...

I went in for the Sunday special, (your choice of boneless or bone in wings for $6 on Sunday) . I ordered the boneless wings, the cashier was very nice. I then witnessed the cashier get bullied by the cook ( the Indian guy with glasses, not the manager in grey suit, but the guy in regular fry cook dress). into giving me the ready made bone in wings. I guess the fry cook didn't want to cook. The cashier put up a little bit of a fight. I listened to them argue in hindi. I pretended I didn't notice, (because the cashier with the long hair was extremely kind) however the whole situation was ugly and inconvenient to me. I ended up buying more food cuz the bone in wings didn't fill me, and I won't come back to this location. 5 stars for the cashiers, 0 for the lazy cook. I don't have time to complain and argue. This location is in a busy mall but the restaurant was not busy at all compared to the nearby McDonald’s. I ordered a meal I’ve had a million times before at other Popeyes. 5 chicken tenders spicy. Served quickly and fresh but unfortunately over dosed with salt like I’ve never had before. It was spicy as usual and crunchy but it was like this was originally supposed to be regular and seasoned for that they added a second dose of seasoning. I had driven from work so I was blocks away when I noticed they were so bad. Not sure if this is just a rookie cook or a bad batch but regardless they were barely edible and at over $10 before tax a sizable chunk of change to end up not eating.
