Located right in the heart of Little Italy, I don't think this place has changed in over half a century. This is their flagship store and is the original one. Their sandwiches have stayed consistent forever! I remember going here as a child with my father and I can barely eat half of a sandwich when I was a child. I really like how they're recipe and sandwiches have remained unchanged. This is a very popular hang out has you get to see many people in the community there as well. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Italian sandwiches.

I love Italian sandwiches, especially with a proper bun. I like chicken and steak, but I always determine that if I get the veal it's my #1 when I want to eat a real veal sandwich! Got the small veal and it was a good size! I bet the regular is pretty big, I was very satisfied with the quality of this veal sandwich. One of the original Italian sandwich spots of Toronto for some of the best Italian sandwiches in the city!! Remember to get some extra onions and cheese!. Pick your level or spice, sweet or hot. šŸ˜‹

First time down at this Toronto staple I always say you never get a second chance to make a first impression and I probably will never be going back. My English is good I speak loud and this is one of the first places that screwed up my order I asked for a sweet veal with just cheese sauce no spice whatsoever I got to my car and the veal was spicy. The price was okay the pizza was very disappointing but I know they're known for their sandwiches it was just okay imagine I had an allergy to peppers.

This was the worst pizza I’ve seen from a store in more than 10 years (maybe ever). I say that cause I used to live in Asia, and there was some BAD pizza going on there. Pizza made by people who’d never eaten pizza. This is worse (!!!!) than most of that garbage. The pizza I received the other day was worse than chain pizza by a factor of 10. It reminds me of that pizza they sell in a box at the supermarket, but less toppings. The crust was thick like bread. The order of ingredients was wrong, but the Japanese kid said the phone line was buggy. Maybe. Even thought the rocker guy said it back properly, but hey, maybe I didn’t properly hear him say it wrong when they were repeating the order. That said, when I got home and realized that the order was wrong, I remembered that (roughly) a year ago, I ordered a San Fran pie, and it also was made incorrectly. Rocker guy was there then too. I don’t know if these guys are drinking or worse, but this isn’t pizza you want to sell. Or buy. I gave half this pizza away on the steps of a church, placed by the feet of a homeless woman. I hope she doesn’t curse me for the dog food I offered her. I don’t know if San Francesco’s has moved its good pizza makers to the expansion stores, and/or whether there is a drug problem at the Clinton store. Or whether they hate people with my name. Regardless, this is terrible, terrible pizza. It may sound like I’m being funny, but I’m serious. This is bad, bad pizza. It used to be the best pizza in west Toronto (maybe all of Toronto. I just don’t know east side pizza). I used to drive 20 mins to pick up a pie. I’ll never buy a pie there again. Last time with the wrong order and the just ā€˜ok’ taste was the yellow flag. This Puppy Chow was the red flag. To be clear, I only eat real cheese/meat pizza maybe twice a year now. This was my chance for this half of 2018. I would have been happy with Pizza Nova level pizza. This was as if Pizza Nova workers went out for a drink, grabbed a McCain’s cheese pie on the way back, added bread to the bottom, put the wrong ingredients on it, and gave it too me. I’m not joking at all. Bad, man. I really hope I’m expressing how bad this pizza is now. These guys need to go on apprentice mode and bring back some people who know how to make pizza. Second time wrong order. Last time the pizza was just ok… maybe Pizza Pizza level. This time I truly regret having ordered here. Plus the gas and time to drive in to get it. Bad meaning bad. Good news: Bitondo’s still makes a good panzo. They made it smaller, but it still has the same...

Great food....but not when you find long hairs in it. I got a sandwich to go and as I was eating it found a this insanely long black hair in my mouth from the middle of the sandwich. Called the store and the girl was standoffish and said ā€œWhat would you like me to do?ā€ and didn’t offer any explanation, compensation, or otherwise. I understand she was just an employee but I don’t think she understood how upsetting it was to take a $10 sandwich a half hour home across the city and find this in there. She informed me she would tell the manager but did not take down my name, or any additional information. The girls working also were not wearing hairnets or hats, which I took note of when I went in as I too work in the food industry. Overall is good food but definitely ruined my experience and probably would not go back or out of my way anymore to get sandwiches from here.

UPDATE: just pulled a SECOND HAIR from the sandwich as I glanced at it when I was about to throw it out. This is ridiculous. Long, dark hair that is definitely not my own and they were deep in the sandwich.

UPDATE AGAIN: Just found a 3rd hair. It seems as if someone had brushed their hair and make a sandwich. 1 hair is an accident, 2 is gross, but 3 is absolutely disgusting. So disappointed.

I called Heath inspection and they are on it. The restaurant never got back to me after I left my...

I remember how delicious San Francesco's sandwiches are so naturally when I was in the area on April 27, 2021 stopping to order takeout was on my mind. When I entered the store I was the only person inside. The person at the counter was polite and took my order then walked into the back to relay my order. A man walked in and I stepped to the side to allow distance between us while he placed his order with the same polite person I dealt with. The man paid in cash and received change back from the counterperson. When I stepped to the side the woman in the back of house saw me looking in and placed her mask back over her mouth. Next the counter person walked into the back to relay the mans order then proceeded to touch food without washing her hands after having handled cash. This disturbing action led me to question what other clean practices are being ignored. In light of Covid-19 not wearing gloves when handling cash and especially not washing hands between handling cash and food caused me to leave the premises without my order. Yes I paid for it but felt it useless to confront an establishment that ignores basic cleanliness. I will never return....
