Fireside — Restaurant in Town of Sylvan Lake

We will never return here again. After arriving, we sat on the patio. For 15 minutes no one acknowledged us, nor even brought us a menu, nor a glass of water. Several servers walked past us numerous times and didn’t acknowledge us. Finally after 15 minutes, we had to wave down a waitress who exclaimed “oh did no one help you yet?” (Obviously not…). We put in an order and decided to let it go but a different waitress came by and told us that our small closed Tupperware box that had 3 small pieces of watermelon couldn’t be in the restaurant, stating “health regulations”. We just came from the beach and we couldn’t leave it on the beach to eat at the restaurant obviously. When my wife offered to put the Tupperware box into the bag the waitress told her that “no it can’t be anywhere here”. Effectively we got KICKED OUT of the restaurant. So to recap, we waited 15 minutes, weren’t acknowledged, had to wave down a waitress and then got kicked out. What the waitress ought to instead have done is come by with some kind of apology for making us wait without being acknowledged but she kicked us out instead. We decided to leave but that apparently wasn’t enough. She mockingly and condescendingly exclaimed loudly behind our backs: “have a good day!” Disrespectful, rude, unprofessional. We walked down to Chiefs Pub & Eatery and were immediately acknowledged and had our order taken. Don’t go to Fireside, go to Chiefs. Much better place and...

BEST WINGS! If you enjoy a crunchy, juicey and flavourful wing, then this is your spot! My kid is literally the pickiest eater, but chicken wings, she will eat. It HAS to be this place when we come to Sylvan. She literally compares every place she has wings at to this place and nothing ever competes. Nachos are huge portions, I had a half portion and I'd hate to see their full portion. So big! Mozza sticks are great as well, awesome marinara sauce. I've only ever had the appetizers at this place and they're all great. Now, the staff... always great! Been here three times now, had different staff each time. Once sat in the downstairs bar area and twice on the upper patio. Always checking in, always prompt, always friendly and amazing. No lack of quality service with a smile here! If there's one thing I hate, it's running a drink empty and sitting and waiting. Never, ever had this happen here. Always checking in and making sure you're enjoying your drinks and meal. Lastly, the serving of the food. SUPER FAST! everytime we've ordered, we never waited longer than 5-10 minutes for food. This last time, I swear it was only 3 minutes, fresh and hot food. This place deserves 5 stars from us. Staff, food, the atmosphere, so friendly so great! This will become our Wednesday mom and daughter wing date...

The fact they even get one star is sickening for me. They deserve 0. went there today with my sister and some friends, we had 4 small children was one of the first groups to walk in during the lunch rush. we grabbed drinks waited for the other guests to arrive once they got their drinks we watched our server take multiple other tables orders while completely ignoring us. we waited half and hour to get our order even taken. then an hour and a half for our food to come out when we all decided enough was enough. my daughter was crying she was so hungry by the time we left. we tried to confront the manager in which she was very snarky with us making excuses about how everyone came in at once. which is not an excuse for deciding to only have one server for a whole restaurant during a rush nor is it an excuse for us being blatantly ignored. poor excuse for an establishment poor excuse of a manager.
