A Disheartening Stay at a Noisy Hotel with Troubling Surroundings
My recent stay at the hotel left me deeply disappointed and frustrated due to a multitude of issues that greatly affected my overall experience. While the hotel showed potential in some aspects, the numerous problems I encountered, combined with troubling surroundings, made it impossible to overlook the shortcomings.
First and foremost, the persistent quacking noise that seemed to echo from the bathroom whenever it was used was a constant source of irritation. This noisy disruption not only affected my comfort but also that of my neighbor. My attempts to communicate this issue to the front desk were met with a defensive attitude rather than a genuine effort to address the problem. The lack of empathy and professionalism displayed by the front desk staff was truly disheartening and left me feeling undervalued as a guest.
In an attempt to find a resolution, I took my concerns to the sales manager, who was actively pursuing our company's business. However, the encounter with the sales manager only added to my dissatisfaction. It became apparent that her focus was primarily on securing the deal rather than understanding and rectifying the issues raised. What was even more puzzling was her seemingly intimate knowledge of the property despite never having physically visited it. This raised suspicions that remote management might be at play, further contributing to the sense of a poorly run establishment.
To compound matters, the surroundings of the hotel were equally concerning. The presence of homeless individuals living around the hotel premises and even in the parking area was unsettling and gave rise to safety concerns. This added a layer of discomfort to the already frustrating experience, leaving me feeling uneasy throughout my stay.
In summation, my stay at this hotel was marred by the consistent and disruptive quacking noise, coupled with an unresponsive and defensive front desk, and a sales manager more interested in sales targets than guest satisfaction. The lack of effective communication, professional management, and attention to guest needs detracted significantly from any potential positive aspects. The unsettling presence of homeless individuals in the vicinity of the hotel only exacerbated the discomfort and unease I felt during my stay. It is my hope that the hotel takes these serious concerns to heart and undertakes significant improvements to provide a more welcoming and comfortable experience for...

It’s in a convenient central area that’s walkable to many shops and restaurants. Be warned as there are many homeless on one side but since I’m originally from Vancouver I was used to this.
Bellman helped carry my luggage in which was great. Rooms are a bit small, but clean and had cool little details. They upgraded me to a room with a mini fridge which was nice. There is no main ceiling light, only the bedside lamps, making it slightly dark. The heating system is so loud and made it hard to sleep, so I turned it off. I only turned on the heat but sounded like the AC fan was blasting. The blankets were a bit thin, but the bed itself was comfortable. I did love the Skoah soap in the bathrooms - very refreshing minty feeling. They text you to check if there’s anything you need, which was a nice touch.
One issue is that the music from the restaurant/bar that is part of the hotel is SO LOUD. There’s a noise policy noted in the elevator saying guests need to keep it down from 10pm-7am so I was surprised that the music from the hotel itself would be so loud. This made it incredibly hard to sleep, even with ear plugs. I called front desk to tell them and they said they can inform the restaurant, but I could still hear it and feel the bass pounding.
The soundproofing overall wasn’t great, I could hear someone’s phone alarm going off in the other room nonstop and it was driving me crazy.
I would’ve considered staying here again but the loud music until the early AM really was a deal breaker. I understand it’s the entertainment area, but a hotel with a noise policy shouldn’t be so loud and/or should have better soundproofing to accommodate their guests. I told the front desk lady when checking out and she said she will let management know, but I was not quite satisfied with her response as it didn’t really make up for my poor sleep and it felt like she was just dismissing me by saying management will take over this concern. It didn’t feel like she went above and beyond to solve the problem and she did nothing to make me feel valued as a customer. For the price, I would expect a better...
Read moreMyself and a friend stayed at the Hotel Belmont in the end of October. We checked in later in the evening as we had a 9 hour drive. Upon checking in we were greeted by staff who had seen us pull into the parking lot and park our car. They had also heard us talking about the parking lot and that we were impressed to find parking that late in the evening, as it took a very long time to check in. Upon checking in they asked all the usual questions. The hotel proceeded to text all throughout the night and next morning making sure everything was fine with our stay, which it was for the most part. We spent the evening coming and going from the hotel and making multiple trips to our vehicle which was parked in view from the lobby with the staff that had checked us in hours prior, and a friendly door person who checked on us each time which we appreciated as two young female travelers. The next morning we woke up early and when to grab something from the car, to find that the car was gone. We went back inside and had staff tell us that they had got the car towed because it was illegally parked. We went to retrieve the car and had to navigate our way around a large unfamiliar city to a not so nice side of town and had to pay over $160 for less then 12 hours of the car being there. Once we retrieved the car and found our way back to the hotel I went back in to figure out parking. I had to wait for the three staff members to bring out two more staff members before I even got to speak to them. Once their crew of five was ready I asked them what was up with the parking and why nobody had mentioned that we needed to purchase a ticket for parking and why nobody had bothered to tell us our car was being taken. They did don't have a response. They then tried to charge us extra for parking the night our car got towed, to which one of the workers told the person billing me to be nice and not overcharge. This was a horrible experience as we were on a time sensitive trip and this completely ruined our day timing wise. We had stayed there before with male counterparts and were treated much better, but when it was two young female they feel the need to try and get more money out of us...
