I have visited this pizza shop in the past due to its centricity on Granville street. Tonight I finally realized that I’ve been getting scammed.
All of the prices shown on the menu changes drastically AFTER 7 pm. Like a reverse happy hour.
I understand that pricing changes due to times isn’t out of the ordinary; however, the menus are displayed on TVs and the sign outside is clearly displayed on the sidewalk of Granville street at midnight with the pre7 pm prices and nothing showing post 7 pm prices. Please refer to attached pictures.
The store has a legal duty to change prices and display them accurately and visibly especially when they use TVs as menu displays.
I would love for a lawyer to investigate this matter as there is a clear breach of contract, and false advertisement. The offer of the pre 7 pm prices are clearly visible and the primary reason for the costumer acquisition. For them to then charge extra when the food is already warmed up is nothing short of scamming. Please refer to Section 74.05 of the Canadian Competition Act for further details on how this violates consumer rights.
Now I understand that the price difference for 3 slices of pizza at midnight is two dollars for pre and post 7 pm, however this is a matter of principle. I feel cheated having been here a considerable number of times and just noticing their scam.
Please refrain from visiting this pizza shop and go to a nearby pizzeria where they have cheaper and better tasting pizza that doesn’t...
Read moreI have always been a valued customer of Megabite, delivery pizza and grab by the slice, until recently. I ordered a pizza on a Sunday night, not only did it come an hour and a half later than what I was told but it had a chunk of GLASS on it. I repeat, GLASS ON MY PIZZA. I did not see it so I bit into it, chewed on something hard, spit it out and low and behold, glass. It cut the roof of my mouth, as well. (and yes, I have photos and the piece of glass as evidence) I immediately called this branch to report the incident and instead of receiving a caring, attentive, worried Megabite representative, I spoke to a woman, Annabelle, who laughed at me while telling me the manager was not in and she could do nothing for me. After hanging up the phone to Annabelle, she called me back 5 mins later to accuse me, saying that I never placed an order with them, that I was lying, etc. And I have the paper receipt and the online order to prove it. I have called back many times to speak to the manager and I am always told he is not in. A very unprofessional way of running a business, if you ask me. My family, friends and I will no longer be customers of Megabite as they have proven they don't value cleanliness OR...
Read moreA friend and I visited this Megabite the other day and ordered a slice each and sat down to eat, it was quiet and we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time most likely because the snow was coming down pretty hard and it was late at night. My pizza slice was a bit cold, took me a bit to finish but after he and I went outside for a cigarette, and another 2 customers came in and say down to eat. We left a couple of our things at the table inside. He had to go grab a card with minutes for his phone from the store across the street and I went back in and I was going to order another slice and as I got in someone, presumably the manager came out and starts telling me we have to leave and aren't allowed to hang out there all night, etc. Essentially telling me we had overstayed our welcome and to leave. He was quite rude and forceful about it even though we had not even done anything to him or the restaurant and certainly made things awkward. Suffice to say, there's no way I was ordering another slice, neither then or in the future. I recommend going to the pizza place across the street, much friendlier and better pizza and atmosphere, if that...
