Food: food is ok, needs refining. The food did take long and the restau was not that busy. Portion of tartars are too small. Charge a few dollars more and give an ok portion. Rather pay 23-25$ and get a nice tartar than to pay 17$ and get a none existent portion. Oyster gratinĂ© needs to be improved. Overall the food is ok. They need to work on their menu. Itâs not a big menu which is great and can give them a great opportunity to refine portions and recipes.
Services: waitresses are polite and nice. Mistakes were made in our order but thatâs ok, it happens. I believe there is a maĂźtre D that was working but he did nothing a maĂźtre D is suppose to be doing. Talking to customers, checking on service/food.. insuring guest experience is top notch. No one ever came to our table and we spend probably the most money per person in the entire restaurant. Not saying he should see us because weâre spending money, they should see everyone. The prices are not cheap, this level of service is to be expected.
Atmosphere: the atmosphere is ok but needs more work for the type of restaurant theyâre trying to do. Their tables are made of a weird rubbery material which quickly gets full of condensation from all the drinks. We had puddles of water all over the table. Half the restaurant is facing a parking lot. Some kind of decor on those windows or anything to make the mood more intimate would really bring the place together. Lowering the lights is not enough.
All in all the place needs work if it is to survive. It has potential but to make it in a the craziest restaurant market in North America you need to bold, different, and deliver on what youâre saying your concept is. Food, atmosphere and service have to work together in with your overall concept.
Good luck to you guys.
Turn it around. We will be back in a few months to see how...
Read moreWe were a party of 3 came last Friday when restaurant was still empty. We had no reservations and was greeted by one of the staff members who was not nice with right of the bat. He started acting irritated towards us and almost rolling his eyes when we told him that we had no reservations. He continued to have the conversation with us in French when we were speaking to him in English, that seemed to irritate him even more. No smile on his face just a smirk. He continued to be dry with us all through out the evening. Maybe it wasn't a good day for him, however I saw him smiling with other customers. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. I had duck with beans and brussel sprouts. The portion was just enough and left you wanting for more. We were not offered bread but I saw written on the menu that you had to ask for it. Since it was our first time there it would have been nice to ask and tell the us about it. I also ordered a drink and a dessert with coffee which were good. I gave this restaurant only 3 stars just because of the way that server treated us. Despite his behavior we were polite with him...
Read moreSlow service, terrible food. We were part of a group of about 25 people so they forced a simplified menu on us. Most people had the rib option, the ribs were disgusting. They were just boiled with a thin sauce slathered on after. Just gross, greasy and absolutely zero taste. Everyone, no exceptions, hated them. Dessert was bland, how can you screw up a brownie? The soup was thin and tasteless. The salad was the only half decent part of the meal, but only because it was crunchy, the dressing was all oil. I mentioned these issues to our waitress, who had the good grace to be embarrassed, but not a word from management or the maitre d, no offer of any sort of apology, let alone compensation, and the meal was ridiculously expensive for the lot of garbage cast-off it was. Avoid at all costs. There's a Thai and an Indian restaurant right next door, go there instead, I've never been but it can't...
