"A Culinary Catastrophe at Dal Roti-Vaguan: An Unpleasant Encounter with Jhanvi"
My recent experience at Dal Roti-Vaguan can only be described as a masterclass in how NOT to run a restaurant. From the moment I entered this establishment, it became abundantly clear that customer service is a foreign concept, and my interactions with Staff Jhanvi exemplified the epitome of rudeness and indifference.
Jhanvi's demeanor set the tone for the evening, and it was nothing short of atrocious. The sheer audacity of her mean-spirited responses left me dumbfounded. Attempting to address concerns with her was akin to navigating a verbal minefield – a treacherous journey filled with condescension and disdain. If rude attitudes were a delicacy, Jhanvi would be a five-star chef.
Customer service, or the lack thereof, was a recurring theme throughout my ill-fated visit. It was as if the staff had collectively decided that attending to patrons was beneath them. Basic courtesy, let alone an obligation to customers, seemed to be an alien concept. Ignoring my reasonable requests and treating them with apathy only reinforced the idea that customer satisfaction is an inconvenience at Dal Roti-Vaguan.
Now, let's discuss the pièce de résistance – the food. To call it stale would be an understatement. It was as if the chef had taken inspiration from a bygone era when culinary excellence was an afterthought. The dishes were not only uninspired but tasted like the remnants of a kitchen cleaning session.
What truly compounded the misery was the lack of any resolution to my concerns. Despite my explicit dissatisfaction, neither Jhanvi nor any other staff member took the initiative to rectify the situation. The apathetic attitude towards customer feedback was the proverbial nail in the coffin of this culinary catastrophe.
In conclusion, Dal Roti-Vaguan is a shining example of how an establishment can fail on multiple fronts simultaneously. The absence of customer service, mean-spirited responses epitomized by Jhanvi, blatant ignorance of genuine complaints, and the serving of stale, lackluster food collectively make this restaurant an absolute avoid. If you value your taste buds and sanity, steer clear of this...

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Daal Roti - Vaughan , and I feel compelled to share my shocking encounter with this establishment. From the moment I stepped through the door, it was clear that customer service is a concept utterly foreign to the staff.
First and foremost, the level of indifference displayed by the restaurant's employees was nothing short of appalling. It seemed as though acknowledging the presence of patrons was beneath their lofty standards. A simple greeting or even a modicum of courtesy would have gone a long way, but alas, such basic niceties were deemed unnecessary.
The responses from the staff, when they could be bothered to respond at all, were outright mean-spirited. It's as if they were trained in the art of customer alienation. When I attempted to address my concerns regarding the stale and tasteless food served, I was met with dismissive remarks and an utter lack of empathy. It's disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.
Adding insult to injury, my complaints were summarily ignored, as if my dissatisfaction was inconsequential. It's disheartening to spend hard-earned money on a dining experience only to be treated as an inconvenience. The staff's refusal to address my concerns left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.
The pinnacle of this disastrous experience was the quality of the food itself. The dishes were not only stale but tasted like they had been reheated multiple times, further emphasizing the utter lack of commitment to culinary excellence at Daal Roti - Vaughan.
In conclusion, my visit to Daal Roti - Vaughan was nothing short of a nightmare. The absence of customer service, coupled with mean-spirited responses, blatant ignorance of legitimate complaints, and the provision of subpar, stale food, left me not only dissatisfied but genuinely upset. I implore potential diners to think twice before subjecting themselves to the dismal excuse for hospitality offered by this...
Read moreI had visited this place as I was in the area and saw that there was a daal roti here so I decide to stop in for lunch buffet. I usually go to the one in Mississauga so I thought it would be the same. Unfortunately nothing can compare to what the Mississauga location has to offer. Here's how it went:
Pricing is higher by 5 dollars more. Place was empty aside from one other table. Food options was relatively the same, butter chicken, chicken curry, goat curry, shahi paneer but they lacked salad options especially pickled like to go with the curries. If you look at the food, the top layer has been dried out indicating that it has been sitting for a while and that the heater is too hot. The waiter, kind guy was not really proactive or refilling the stations. I do not think he means any harm but is just not accustomed to serving or customer service. It was not busy but he could have at the very least stirred the food so it is not crusting. Starting off the butter chicken and shahi paneer was empty. Meaning there was no chicken or paneer. I had to ask for them to refill it. I constantly had to ask about 3-4 times during the meal for them to refill as everytime I went it would be empty. I only found it mildly annoying since I would have to wait for them to refill it. The one part I do like is that they serve both naan and roti while the Mississauga location stopped roti. Everything was decent but you can tell the food had been drying out and was a bit off. Service was decent in terms of the waiter being friendly but it was at times difficult to get a hold of him for water refills or food refills as he was in the back and would come out if he had to bring out some things.
Overall it is a decent buffet for lunch. I would advise checking the food before sitting so you know if it's been out for too long. Hoping management will address a few things and I will possibly return to re-review. They could have had a bad...
