This was my 169th eatery on my quest to eat at every eatery in Vernon. It was my first time ever eating at Italian Kitchen. My parents have dined here several times over the years. It was time for me to pop my Italian cherry and make my Italian Kitchen debut. I ordered lasagna and a soda. It came with free thin slices of bread with a ball of butter pre-meal, and a piece of soft garlic bread during the meal. I paid $38.02 after tax and tip. A group exited as I entered. I was the only customer in the restaurant which was cool. That hasn't happened in about a year during this quest. I wasn't in a very friendly and social mood due to personal circumstances. Therefore, the waitress was polite by matching my energy and being very direct and business-like. I usually have much better banter. My lasagna and the bread all tasted great. Whether you think a piece of lasagna and soda is worth $38 after tax and tip is for you to judge. How hungry are you? How much are you craving lasagna? How much bread are you eager to fill up on? Note that I didn't buy any appetizers. If you're really hungry, you'll probably want to order one. I wasn't super hungry, but was able to clear the bread and lasagna with relative ease. Motown music playlist was playing and I liked the random celebrity artwork on the walls. Someday I want to come back and try something else on the menu. I think I just need to find that ideal dish for me that will want to make me coming back. Again, the lasagna was great but after visiting 169 eateries I have hundreds of dishes in my memory bank which makes this quest increasingly competitive between all of the eateries in town. Italian Kitchen--give them a try and let me know what you think!

This is a lovely Italian restaurant on the main downtown strip near the Vernon Library. The atmosphere and music taken me back to Italy with a relaxed mello ambiance. It is fantastic. This is a great spot for a romantic meal and many couples came in during our time there. I ordered an 9 oz Italian red wine by the glass which works out to 2 glasses. My husband had a coffee which he had without cream (unusual for him) and stated it was “fantastic”. After we ordered our meals, they presented us with fresh homemade bread which was drool worthy. I ordered the lasagna which you could tell instantly was made fresh with fresh noodles and was extremely tasty. My husband ordered the Seafood cioppino which was a combination of scallops, shrimp, and mussels and risotto and red sauce cooked to perfection. Finally, no Italian meal is complete without a dessert of which we choose the Italian classic tiramisu. We could hear the chefs whipping the cream in the kitchen. It came topped with fresh whipped cream, strawberries and raspberries. The taste of the tiramisu was devine. Smooth creamy with just the right amount of flavour. Like the rest of the meal, another dish made perfectly. The servers kept checking in on us at just the right moments. Price was extremely reasonable at at around $100/2 including drinks and a dessert. We spent just over 1.5 hours relaxing and enjoying our meal. Overall, we would come back and try the other dishes but could see ourselves just popping in for the awesome coffee and dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We came on a Sunday night for dinner for the first time. We were so happy with the service and the food! The homemade pasta was lovely and we loved the arancini appetizer. I had the Salsicce spaghetti whole my husband had the chicken Alfredo and added scallops. Both were incredible and full of flavor. I appreciated the Salsicce as something I've never had before and obliterated my plate it was so good. Feta, artichoke, garlic, etc in a light sauce that let the Italian sausage shine. An awesome combo I look forward to trying to replicate at home. Top it off with a chill, unpretentious atmosphere where you can see the chefs cooking from many tables. All in all we ordered two appies, two pastas, a glass of wine, sparkling water, iced tea, a scallop upgrade on one pasta, and garlic toast added per pasta. You bet we took leftovers home and all in all worked out to $60 per person. Well worth it based on all the extras we ordered. 10/10 would venture to Vernon for this again.

Really disappointed in this establishment. Took my time looking for the perfect place for my family and I to go out for my birthday dinner. The menu on line looked amazing. Nothing noted on their website that they had changed the menu. Little disappointed when we arrived but decided to give it a try. Was a Friday night at 545 pm. 3 of my guests ordered there steak sandwiches. While we were ordered we were told they didn't have any fries or any other choices of potatoes so they had to choose a pasta side. Again a little disappointed but those who ordered the steak sandwich chose a side. As we were sitting there waiting for our food the waitress came up to us and inform us that unfortunately the cheff had accidentally drop one of the steaks and they had no more steaks to replace it with so a member of our group had to quickly decide on something else. At this point we were already pretty disappointed in this whole experience. We decided that this wasn't the experience we wanted for the birthday dinner we had planned so asked to cancel the order and leave. The manager Jordan came over and asked us what was wrong. I politely informed him on everything I had just mentioned. He responded very rudely and said find i got your bill and have a good night. I assumed he can't that he would take care of the bill because if the bad experience which only had a couple drinks on it and 2 appetizers on it. As we were walking out the door he aggressively raised his voice at us and said you have to pay for what you had. I responded politely but you had said you had it. He rudely replied "so what I have to eat your bill!" Yes absolutely you should have! It's a wright off for you! Instead now you've forced me to tell the world my horrible experience I had at your establishment with my family and friends! On another note. For such a "fancy" establishment there bathroom was disgusting and had a really strong odor of mold and mildew. I will be reporting this to the heath authorities! Save your money. Go else were. It was dead there on a Friday night. Now I understand why! Sorry Jordan. I think with your personality you shouldn't be in...

I'ma be honest here. I will not go back. I was highly disappointed in the food and start of service. First, we get in, and seated. About 10mins goes until someone asks us about drinks. We decided to order an appy at same time. Drinks came eventually. Waited in appy. Server came around and apologized for the wait, it had been about 15/20mins, because the had a skip order come in, so we decided to put in the dinner order then, seeing as we've spent lots of time waiting. So, first of all. Don't ever tell paying customers in store that your priority is skip. If you want a tip, might wanna deal in store first. Another 10mins goes by, finally get our appy. Bruschetta. It was horrible. They decided even tho it was charred way too much, they'd just hide the blackened bread with toppings. Didn't mask the taste. Didn't eat it. The server however, when she came around, took it off our bill. Next was dinner. On the menu it says; Fresh potato dumplings, in a choice of marinara sauce with soft bocconcini or creamy gorgonzola sauce. I decided on the marinara with bocconcini(I love that stuff) when we got our food. I could visually see no bocconcini.. I started to eat it anyways. Holy wow. It was spicy. I couldn't eat it.

Server came around, when she seen I had pushed my plate away, I told her it was too spicy I couldn't eat it. Explained I got fresh pepper but it shouldn't be like that. She said, oh, it's probably because the add CHILI FLAKES!!! to their marinara sauce.

Who the hell puts CHILI FLAKES in a marinara sauce???!!!!!?!?!

She asked if I wanted it remade, I declined because I seen they had orders up still, and I didn't want to be waiting even more for food.

In the end, she promod that off too, as well as a drink. So that was great. But the food was horrible. I've had better food at the old spaghetti factory for cheaper and more food. Or even better quality and portioned food at L'Isola Bella in Lake country.

First time, and I...
