I eat out a lot. It's true. I probably shouldn't but I get some keen insight on the overall hospitality and food service industry in Victoria. And, honestly, I've also spent not inconsiderable time in the service industry myself, so when I say this place should hang its head and seriously consider seppuku, they should take note.
So first, the parking. Yeah, the lot isn't the greatest but when I have to ask her to get out so I can park as close as possible to a fence because they've got company vehicles in the customer parking... come on.
I walk in with the wife and take a seat at the bar. We peruse the menus while waiting for service. Probably at the bar for about six minutes before anyone noticed us. Then we ordered a coffee, a sprite and a couple waters and yes, we wanted to order food.
The sprite comes two minutes later, no waters and the bartender is much too busy socializing and talking (not serving, I can tell the difference) to bother to look back. She'd said that the coffee needed to be made but hadn't bothered to even start it. I noticed that about 15 minutes after ordering and wondering if we'd ever get to order food.
To hell with this, at this point. We were there for close to half an hour, got a sip of sprite and, because we're not thieves, paid $3 for it which probably just ended up in the tip jar; that's how much that bartender sucks at her job.
This isn't the first time we've run into terrible service at that place but I can tell you with the sort of certainty I normally reserve for predictions of stupid government actions that it will be the last.
I would never be able to look myself in the eye in the mirror with any appreciable amount of professional self-esteem if I ever failed that badly at my job.
And, to the owners, this is the person who you have hired to represent you. This reflects squarely on you and you should probably take a look...

Read moreI have been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, managing and waitressing. Usually I have a lot of sympathy and understanding and can find a redeeming quality in the bar, whether atmosphere, service, quality... this was honestly the worst place Ive eaten as far as I can remember. We ordered ceasers to start and they were barely consumable and tasted really off. Thinking it was a one off I stayed quiet, as I understand the restaurant industry and I wasnt going to say anything over 1 drink. We then ordered an appie which never came. When the mains showed up I had ordered a beat salad which arrived without the beats. The waitress didnt notice. I waited till she came back to point out that my beat salad was missing beats. She brought it back and I had about 3 bites and couldnt eat it. It tasted like i was eating solid vinegar. I sent the salad back and decided against ordering anything else. When the bill arrive th salad was on the bill discounted about 1.50$ for something I didnt eat. I told her I wasnt paying for the salad, absolutely not. She went and took it off the bill and I paid. After I paid i looked at the receipt and I was charged for a beer which I didnt even order. She said there was nothing she could do so I told her i wanted the beer if I was paying for it. She wasnt apologetic. Between the terrible cearers, forgotten appy, forgotten beats and disgusting main, then the salad staying on the bill and being charged for a drink. Worst place i think ive ever been. Would...
