Went in for a late lunch around 3pm with some family. Initially, the server that greeted us was prompt and smiley which set a nice mood for the lunch. Unfortunately, after receiving our drinks and taking our food order they were not seen again. Rather, who seemed to be the manager was now taking care of us and that’s where things went down hill. Each interaction with her was met with a cold and unpleasant vibe as smiles were completely absent and no sort of “your welcome”, or “my pleasure” was heard when thanking her for bringing us our meals. Unfortunately, one of our pizza’s (diavola) was overbearingly spicy and no one came to check on our food after we received it. After having finished the rest of our food and leaving a partially eaten diavola pizza, we commented on how the pizza was far to spicy for our liking to which the manager responded with, “yep it’s a spicy one”. Seeming to completely dismiss our complaint and or ensure that the meal went alright she then proceeded to take the rest of our dishes away. Frustrated and disappointed we figured it just be best that we pay and leave promptly. This experience left us with no intent of returning or recommending this place to anyone else. As I see that poor attitude seems to be a semi frequent topic of discussion in these reviews, I hope that this helps suggest an adjustment to...

I am a skip driver and I had a bad experience. I arrived 2 minutes before the pick up time for the order. I saw that there was three other drivers in the lobby of the restaurant so I asked them how long they had been waiting and one of them told me over 30 minutes. After hearing that I asked the staff the status of the order and they told me they were working on it. I then asked them if the pizza for the order was in the oven and they went over and checked then told me it hadn't even put it in the oven yet, by this time it had already been 2 minutes past the scheduled pickup time. I waited another 30 minutes then politely told the staff that they are able to request more time in the skip portal before drivers arrive if they need it so drivers don't have to wait because we get paid less than $10 an hour for waiting. She then told me that that the skip the dishes Portal had been turned off and they couldn't receive any orders. That turned out to be a lie because three more drivers ended up turning up before I received the order. I had to wait an additional 37 minutes after the scheduled pickup time until I received the order. This is completely inappropriate, disrespectful and unacceptable. (For background just so you dont think Im just a new skip driver, I have done over 9,700...

I was so happy to find Pizzeria Prima Strada when I moved to Victoria a couple of years ago. BUT it can be a bit hit and miss with the pizza/food. Some reviews mention - toppings on one side only, which we have also encountered. Also a lack of toppings (i.e.: a couple slices of onion or red pepper, a single leaf of basil on the whole pizza). If you mention this to the server, the reply is: "it is a Neapolitan pIzza". (The lack of toppings on one side and the inconsistency has nothing to do with the style of pizza!)

A new item that we tried was the lasagna - it is nothing like the picture on the website/Instagram! Very disappointing. Even the ingredients listed didn't match what we were served. Bland and rather tasteless (don't waste your money). We did mention this to the server, but they didn't seem to care.

Unfortunately, Pizzeria Prima Strada has a bit of a monopoly as Victoria has limited choices. We decided it would be best to lower our expectations if we go back. I get it - we are...

I have had their pizza before but it has been awhile. After a doctors appointment I discovered that they had a happy hour, so I decided to give it a try. I sat outside on the patio with traffic whizzing by. Service was prompt and friendly, and I was worried that the pizza diavola was spicy ( one of three pizzas for happy hour ). The crust was divine and the best for neopolitain style pizza. Fluffy edge with a crunch and very thin in the middle. They also had a margherita but I alway order that so decided to try something different. Would definitely go back and the other menu items like the meatballs served with ricotta , Ruccola and their house bread. Also noticed some nice cocktails for happy hour which I will try next time. They have Lambrusco which is a bubbly chilled red wine from Italy which is a special little treat and it’s in the happy hour menu. What a nice surprise. Will update this review when I go back. Definitely a return visit is in order.

A nice spot for an outing with family for individual personal - and somewhat expensive - pizzas. The menu selection for pizzas is rather good and reads 'delicious' but the toppings are sparse to an individual expecting a mountain of meat on the 'Carne'... or recognizable oyster mushrooms on the 'Funghi Supremo'. The Funghi was soggy on the bottom as the mushrooms must be soaked in water or something? Ordering 4 pizzas was $95 with taxes and tip - without much left over and boxed for home. I'm not terribly surprised about this as we've been here before and it's a special night out once a year but for that $$$ at a quality Indian restaurant would feed us all again with a hearty helping the next day. Again, we come here infrequently for the experience and to switch it up. The service was good and it's fun to watch the staff throw the dough in the air and place them in the brick oven.

After spending 6 days in the hustle and bustle of the harbour area we were so happy to sit and enjoy some time in Pizzeria Prima Strada. We decided to order “to-go” (wanted to get the kids home) and waited at the restaurant with our young children. In all honesty we felt that most restaurants in the harbour area looked at us as if we had 3 heads for showing up for dinner with young children....not here. We were thrilled to be greeted with crayons and paper to color on, drinks while we waited, and updates on our pizzas as they cooked. Next time we are in town we will stay and eat. We took our pizzas back to our rental condo and very much enjoyed both pizzas. The prices are fair and the staff was amazing.
