Opened by the Chef Walaiphan of Krua Walaiphan (the best Thai food in HK!) on High St nearby. Was a bit skeptical when I saw the menu which had some Vietnamese and even Filipino dishes. But it's by Walaiphan, how bad could it be? Ordered Khao Soi, and holy smokes... I had expected something simple like what's served in Northern Thailand. When it came out, I was blown away by the presentation. Best of all, the chicken was actual pieces of yellow chicken! I thought it would just be small bits of chicken. The soup was rich and thick and not salty. The entire bowl felt complex when eaten yet the flavors were simple and wholesome. Even the fried egg I added was a delight. My Thai iced tea was good, too. Friendly service. Food was served quickly (it was just me and another table which already had their food).

I had felt homesick and stumbled across this Authentic Thai Kitchen in Sai Ying Pun Hongkong. From the moment i walked in i was greeted with happy smiles from a man called Alex and his staff. Alex and his staff attended my every need to how spicy i wanted my meal to a complementary chicken soup to start off, and refilled my napkins everytime they had gotten dirty. Alex, with his kind nature made you want to eat more and more and definitely is somewhere i would call my “local”. The atmosphere was quiet but i’m sure the place is hiving round dinner time. Their food was impeccable and the hygiene was 5stars. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone as it caters to all. True hidden gem in the heart of hongkong. x

With all the rave reviews, I had to check it out for lunch. It didn't disappoint! We tried a few dishes, both from the lunch menu and à la carte. The standout was definitely the Pad See Ew (Thai Stir Fried Noodles)—perfectly balanced sweet, savory, and a touch of sour, with that essential 'wok hei'! The Tom Yum was super fresh and delicious too. The only letdown was the braised beef cheek. It wasn't bad, just felt like a Westernized version—neither authentic nor innovative, just overly sweet. The owner/server was super nice and friendly. The decor is very modern with a South East Asia vibe. The downside? It's not very convenient. Unless you live nearby, a taxi is your best bet.

The culinary experience at Pak Soi Asian Kitchen is nothing short of extraordinary, particularly with standout dishes like the Beef Rendang and Buttermilk Chicken.

The Beef Rendang is a masterclass in flavor. This slow-cooked dish boasts tender beef that melts in your mouth, enveloped in a rich, aromatic coconut milk sauce infused with cinnamon, kaffir lime leaf, ginger, and aromatic spices. Each bite offers a perfect balance of heat and sweetness, making it a must-try for any meat lover.

Equally impressive is the Buttermilk Chicken, which features succulent pieces of chicken marinated to perfection. The buttermilk gives it an incredibly moist texture. This dish is both comforting and indulgent.

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a casual meal, this restaurant promises an unforgettable culinary journey through the flavors of Asia. Highly...
