The Mood Resturant & cafe — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to COOQ was so unpleasant that I feel compelled to share. What was meant to be a relaxed afternoon with friends turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience, particularly due to the service.

The low point of the night was when we ordered hookah. The waiter assigned to our table, Salah, was shockingly rude and unprofessional from the start. Instead of welcoming us with basic courtesy, he approached us with an attitude that was completely uncalled for. His demeanor was cold and dismissive, and he seemed visibly annoyed by any questions or requests we had regarding the hookah setup.

When we asked about flavors or adjustments, Salah responded with sarcasm and made us feel like a burden rather than paying customers. His tone was condescending, and he showed no interest in ensuring we had a pleasant experience. At no point did he attempt to resolve the issue or even show the slightest hint of hospitality something that should be a standard in any restaurant or café.

We left disappointed and frustrated. Customer service plays a vital role in the dining experience, and sadly, this establishment failed miserably in that regard. Our experience was very bad. As soon as we walked in the director told us that we were either forced to eat or we could leave “this is a restaurant not a coffee shop” we were there to eat anyway so we sat down. Only one of us was going to eat initially so she ordered and the other three of us got drinks, the director then came to our table expressing his disappointment towards us saying that when he asked us if we were going to eat he meant ALL of us. We talked back and forth saying that not all of were hungry, which is completely normal and that one of us did actually get something to eat. Are you really still using "MINMUM CHARGE" in 2019? They informed me that there was a minimum charge, 150LE/Person, I asked them why they haven't noticed that on there website or there menu, and as far as I know it's forbidden in Egyptian law to impose minimum charge without making a clear notification at the cafe/restaurant!
