Mimi’s Addis Restaurant — Restaurant in Addis Ababa

POOR SERVICE We went to this restaurant with my 9 friends last night to have a drink and a meal. We waited almost for 11 minutes to get attention from the server. Unfortunately no one showed up. I went to the bar & ask the person if we can get a service. The gentleman apologized and said he we call our waiter. The waiter showed up with the menu no greeting no smile. He placed the menu and left. A few minutes later showed up and asked us if we ready to order. It took a few minutes to get everyone’s order but the server was inpatient left us. He came back later stood like wall. I ask him if everything is ok with him ? He has a gut to tell us you guys don’t know what to order and wasting his time. By the way the restaurant was laterally empty. I think he has a bad day but he took it on us. We ask if a manager is available he said no manager on duty. The guy has such a bad attitude. It was on Thursday night. Me and my friends were meet up there just to have dinner and some drinks, but they were not happy to give any services for us. They were pushing us to sit some corner that we don’t want to, and had no interest to serve us on the place we wanted to. It was not even a reserved place!!, and they were not nice and willing to tell us whatever the reason is. As a conclusion, they were not welcoming. We were not sure for whom all the tables are for!! It would have been better to mention for a dresscode if we were even under dressed!! The food and service are excellent. They even allowed for the adjustments that I needed for my dietary restrictions. The walls could use some paint. And the chairs and table cloths show their age and doesn’t look clean. But I definitely do come back for the food and the servers are very attentive and kind. I will come again. One minor complaint is that they don’t serve wine 🍷 by the glass only by the bottle and I don’t drink a bottle. But then again the mint mojito turned out...
