This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves Korean cuisine.
It's incredibly clean, tidy, and minimalist. Arriving as a group of three, we were warmly welcomed by the restaurant owner upon entry. The menu was super Authentic with all Korean famous dishes. The food took quite a while to arrive due to the prior rush of customers, keeping us waiting for over 30 minutes to receive our entire order.
Upon finishing our meal, here are our thoughts on the dishes we ordered: Kimchi pancake: It had a good texture, a nice blend of chewiness and sweetness from the batter with the spicy and salty flavors of kimchi. However, all three of us found it a bit overly salty. -Black bean noodles were delicious and served generously. We had to assist each other to finish the sizable portion of noodles. Kimchi zzigae (kimchi stew served with rice): The soup had the distinct spicy and sour taste of kimchi, accompanied by various vegetables, although it lacked a bit in beef content. Nonetheless, it was the most flavorful dish of the day. Rabbokki with ramen: This dish sparked some debate as it was overly sweet. We've never had ramen with spicy rice cakes that were sweet yet still spicy. Honestly, it was a bit challenging to enjoy. Despite the chewy and delicious rice cakes and tasty noodles, the sauce's extreme sweetness and spiciness detracted from the dish's overall appeal.
In general, the food's price here is reasonable, super friendly staff and good quality of food. We'll definitely be returning to try more dishes...
Read moreVisited this place during lunch time and to say the least, I was incredibly disappointed. Though advertised as home made Korean cuisine, this unfortunate experience provided me with a buffet lacking in variety and quality. The majority of the dishes were either not fresh or lacking taste. The glass noddles, which were in fact actually very good, were unfortunately not refilled for the length of my dining. This led to me only eating the meagre remains of what was left (some salads and chicken). I.e no glass noddles for me. For the entire duration of my dining (approximately 30 minutes), the fish was not refilled and remained in the same empty state as when I arrived.
Naturally, I cannot speak for everybody, or perhaps I was just unlucky, but in my view this restaurant does not live up to anything near it's high rating. I've had ample experience with Korean food and this place did not live up to expectations.
Summary:
little to no variety (2 not so well stocked meat dishes and some salads) empty trays during buffet (barely any...
Read moreAs I was browsing their menu outside, the owner let me in 20 min. before opening. I was worried the kitchen wouldn't be ready yet, but I was wrong! I ordered the jjajangmyeon, which I really wanted to try for the first time. The dish came to my table really quickly, steaming hot and looking gorgeous! The taste, aroma and texture were just spot on, and the portion size was generous. The mixture of veggies and pork was savoury and mouthwatering. The only negative thing I could find was the low amount of pork. I feel the dish would be better with more, especially regarding the relatively high price (17.90€).
The customer service was friendly and proper. The place was quiet and had a bit of coziness to it. The paper menus could need to be renewed and the table with pot accessories needed a bit of polish, as old stains from cleaning rags...
