Namaste India — Restaurant in Châlons-en-Champagne

Friendly enough service but despite the place being almost empty inside (Weds late pm in Sept), one largeish table outside, the one guy serving seemed absolutely rushed off his feet. I can only assume there were lots of delivery orders. Our order was taken in a tearing hurry, and starters came pretty quickly. Then there was a really long wait before main courses and it was very hard to get hold of the waiter again to ask for more drinks. The food was ok but didn't really stand out in any way. It felt like a safe option for a night when you need something uncomplicated but I wouldn't...

Accueil sympathique, personnel poli. Salle propre, peut-être un peu trop sobre pour un restaurant indien. Salle pas bruyante, donc on ne s'y sent pas comme dans une cantine. Service très rapide. Plats un peu chers (mais avec du goût) : plus de 15 E pour un bol avec un peu de sauce curry et quelques petits morceaux de viande dedans. Gros hic : le riz n'est pas inclu dans le prix. Et pourtant...ils auraient dû l'inclure systématiquement car le plat est est vraiment très salé et il est impossible de le manger sans riz. Le gâteau halwa aux carottes à mon avis un goût qui se rapproche du riz au lait. Un peu fade. Les beignets d'aubergine n'ont pas eu de goût, désolée. Par contre, j' ai beaucoup aimé le Naan à l'ail, j'y ai rajouté de la sauce à la menthe que j'ai bien aimée aussi, pour le rendre encore plus...

Vegetarian Friendly (and plenty for meat eaters). A good Indian restaurant with tasty food. A friendly welcome in French or English (and probably Hindi). Our only complaint is that for us the vegetarian mains were more UK...
