An exceptional dining experience in the heart of Old Nice
We spent a truly exceptional evening at Le Petit Beefbar in Nice. Having already enjoyed the Beefbar in Monaco, we were curious to discover the Nice location — and it exceeded all expectations. Compared to Monaco, the setting here is more intimate, yet equally stylish.
Tucked away in the pedestrian streets of Old Town Nice, just a few steps from the bustling crowds, the beautiful terrace captures the charm of a classic Parisian brasserie with a touch of relaxed southern French spirit, framed by olive trees and warm evening light.
Beyond the delicious beef on the plate, what really stood out was the attentive, warm and wonderfully personal service — a real highlight of our first visit. Special thanks to our waiter Benjamin, who made the evening even more memorable with his genuine charm, thoughtful recommendations, and friendly conversation.
Highly recommended: start with one of their cocktails — we had a creative twist on an Old Fashioned (the “Rock’n Rye”) and a refreshingly summery “Reform Club.” Don’t miss the extraordinary truffle mashed potatoes — truly melt-in-your-mouth good. We’ll be...
Read moreSimply average. You get the same steak dinner at any stateside joint in better than steak and shake. The price was comparable to DC until I got my bill. Ordered the generic steak frites, offered the upsell to filet minion and said "no, I want the standard", charged for filet, probably got the filet. No point in arguing because the patron of the establishment was combative from the jump and arguing would have added drama I don't want tonight. The wine was acceptable, the bread had the label of the bakery that made it still stuck to the crust. The house sauce, mediocre. My mother for years attempted just this sauce, but she failed at it because her cooking was a war crime never taken to trial. I expected better. The fries were delicious, but if you're getting overcharged from 28 to 42euro for the steak, the fries should not be the highlight of the meal. . One last thing....here's the reason I INTENTIONALLY ordered the smaller portion: I wanted to sample 2 or 3 places this evening and this was supposed to be the 1st course. I'm a big man. I spent 8hrs at the beach working up an all...
Read moreI recently dined at Le petit bar beef Nice and I want to start by saying the food was absolutely excellent— tasted amazing and well-presented. The service from the waitstaff was equally impressive; they were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome.
However, I was disturbed by the behavior of the host during our visit. While the rest of the staff remained professional and friendly, the host acted in a way that seemed demeaning and even aggressive toward the team. Most concerning was when I witnessed the host physically push a female waitress toward a table in a manner that appeared forceful and inappropriate. This moment was uncomfortable and completely at odds with the otherwise warm atmosphere.
I hope management takes this seriously, as no staff member should be treated that way in front of patrons—or at all. The restaurant has so much going for it, but this kind of behavior from leadership detracts from the experience and raises concerns about...
