I honestly don't understand the hype for this place. This is the first meal we had in Paris on a recent trip and we made a reservation a month in advance, and sadly it did not live up to to expectations. The ambience is pretty cool, particularly if you can get a table under the dome. The artwork is interesting and the walls change colors every few minutes. We had a steak served with garlic mashed potatoes and red mullet with artichoke puree. Of these, the mashed potatoes were the best part. I asked for the steak medium rare and there was absolutely no hint of pink. The mullet was tasteless and the artichoke puree was salty and kind of off-putting (I have no idea what artichoke puree is supposed to taste like, so maybe that's what it tastes like). Read moreA place serving caifan in Paris (for all my fellow Singaporeans out there). It’s 8 euros for three choice of sides with rice, they don’t differentiate if you choose three vegs or three meats, it’s a flat rate of 8 euros which was quite interesting.
The food was alright, above average among the asian food offerings here. Hit just what I would expect from a caifan store.

Read morePopular place on a street with a lot of Chinese establishments. Kind of dim sum-oriented, in which many things can be ordered individually (one dumpling, one bun, etc). My friend and I split four dumplings and each got a noodle dish. The menu isn’t very helpful for differentiation, but we both liked what we had so I don’t think you can go wrong. Decent prices, as I got a soda and she got wine and it was around €9 when we split it. I don’t speak French well but asked for my broth to be spicy in Mandarin. If you’ve never had French Chinese food, they assume no one can handle ANY spicy. Even after I asked, it was barely spicy. I guess I should ask for extra spicy next time? But I will...
