Medusa — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

Good to be back in Kef after so long. Early season so not much open. Made my pilgrimage to Klematis in Lourdata for a great steak but they're not open until May. Facebook said try here so we did and very glad.

The owner is a great guy, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. He suggested a baked feta starter to share while we waited and it was divine, just wonderful. I couldn't make up my mind between the filet or the T-bone, the owner said he had a beefsteak I would like so I went with his suggestion. He was on the money, it was every bit as good as Marina's club steak at Klematis and eating it literally on the beach is fantastic.

Partner had a delicious mixed slouvaki. The chips are perfect, light & crisp & tasty. A late lunch so cool Mythos rather than wine and the company of a cat and a dog who were glad to be either side of me and count me as no man's land in a truce fo so long as there were scraps. Then, when they could see no more coming they set off in opposite directions.

A very lovely place to sit and listen to the waves with excellent food. We're off to Itheca for a week but will be staying here for our last night just to make sure the deserts are as good as the rest. The price is very reasonable too. Put Medusa on your list of must visit places in Kefalonia.

We came here for dinner around 8ish and we were asked to pick a seat. Initially the service was quick and we had our first round of drinks taken and food ordered. We then waited very close to an hour for our main meal to arrive after skipping the starters. We had some bread which we didn’t realise we had to pay for, we didn’t mind as this kept us entertained while we waited. We had the stuffed squid and prawn pasta, both very mediocre meals. We ordered another pint half way through our meal which never arrived. Our female server was too busy checking her phone and shouting at other staff members to pay anyone any attention. The owner did the rounds at a couple of tables but at no point did anyone check in with us. The other members of staff, while efficient look bored/irritated by their colleagues. I would claim we’re very easy people to please, however the service was awful and we should have gone to the seafood restaurant next door. I would advise avoiding unless you like to be forgotten about...

Medusa Taverna is on the beach, adjacent to several more all over looking the beautiful bay! Food and service as with all of them, excellent. My partner and I have slight mobility issues and asked the staff for a Taxi, the owners daughter returned and said when we where ready she would take us to our hotel, about one kilometre, she explained that we would have had to wait awhile and the fare would have been 15 euros as they are based in Skala approximately 8 kilometres, we thought that personal touch was wonderful and made our day!
