ABOVE Roof Top Bar Restaurant — Restaurant in Athens

Really unfortunate management in a very pretty location. We tried to go for cocktails and a view of the Acropolis. The view is stunning. Maybe we won as we were never actually served anything, so we got the best bit and left. The lighting was like police interrogation spotlights. The music was overly loud and appropriate for a much younger crowd than was present. We were sort of greeted, given menus, but then no one came to take our order. The table we sat at was dirty. We asked for it to be cleaned which was then half done. We went up to place an order since no one came to take the order and after a while just left. The little bar restaurant downstairs had some lovely trees, a cat, charming staff, good drinks and good service. The sound of cicadas was far nicer than poorly...

As other reviewers already noted the service was and still is abysmal. The staff is very inattentive. Normally we do not rate low and are very lenient towards the staff. But this experience left us quite astonished. First they took a very very long time to first clean the table/bring the menu/taking the order. Then expectedly the food was brought out very late and it was even the wrong plate. When I brought it to their attention, they first denied it. Until they brought the right dish 15 minutes later.

The pinnacle was that they brought the check to us when we finally ate. We were absolutely flabbergasted as they would not close for another 3 hours.

One would not expect such a treatment in a five star hotel restaurant. Needless to say that they did not apologize...

My wife and I stayed at the Wyndham Grand for four days, and visited the rooftop bar twice. We went for drinks and appetizers. We ordered a Passion Fruit Martini and a Brazilian Caipirinha. The mixed drinks are made of, primarily, sugar and ice; very little actual alcohol was added. On the service side there were more faults than I care to comment on. We also had a shrimp appetizer that was underwhelming. The only highlight of the experience was the amazing view of the Parthenon.
