We visited this restaurant around 8:45 PM and had a truly disappointing and unpleasant experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made it clear we weren’t welcome — their behavior was rude and dismissive throughout our visit.

We were served food on broken plates, which I only realized after asking for extra ones that were perfectly fine. Clearly, there was no excuse for that. The food itself tasted like it was made from frozen ready meals — nothing fresh or enjoyable.

One of the most unacceptable parts: we had ordered fried banana for takeaway, and when we opened it later, we found it was mouldy on the inside. Completely shocking and unhygienic.

On top of that, they literally began turning off the restaurant lights, leaving only the light above our table on when we started to eat our food.

While we were still finishing our drinks, the waiter kept pressuring us to pay as they were “closing the till.” Even though my friend was still seated at the table, they cleared everything off — including our unfinished drinks — without a word.

We left feeling deeply disrespected and unwelcome. This was an absolute waste of money and a disappointing way to end our evening. Would...

Absolutely appalling.

I called in one evening as a solo guest in a restaurant that was far from at full capacity. I get the menu taken from me and asked to “wait a bit, as there is a lot of food in the kitchen”. I heard the food was nice here, so I compromised and waited on with a drink.

Over an hour passes, and I’m still waiting. After asking about when I could order food, it was clear that they had forgotten about me. Flustered, the main waiter (man, short) shoved a box of 100 forks and spoons in front of me and told me “not to be late, as we’re closing in 20 minutes”, which I thought was really cheeky - not really my fault they forgot about me.

In all of their “business”, the chefs were walking around casually with bright smiles on their faces - not a care in the world.

Awful experience, what a shame. 2 stars as the food was nice and the portions generous. But never again. Never had such awful service. Not...

Found this large Vietnamese restaurant around the corner and decided to give it a go after a long workout because it stays open until 10pm, which I assume it's very rare in Europe for a restaurant to open that late. Food came quick and piping hot. The beef pho soup and the stir fried vegetables were very tasty and had great value for money: imagine the pho costs less than £5 and the vegetables cost less than £2. What a treat!! Won't recommend the vegetable spring roll though as the skin was dry and tough, and the dipping sauce was too thick to coat the roll properly. But the bill came up at £9 in total so what more can you ask for? Will definitely come back when I need a good bowl of noodle and have already...

Outside seating area is absolutely lovely in the warm Budapest weather. Food is brilliant, truly authentic Vietnamese cuisine and the beer (Dreher Bak) was brilliant. Service was excellent, quicker than any I’d received in Budapest and the servers were incredible, so friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Budapest, either for a quick lunch or for an evening meal, you can’t go wrong with Vin Vin and whatever takes your fancy will be incredibly cheap (around 2000 HUF/ 4 GBP) for a large, filling main.
