Visited this place on a Saturday for lunch. The place was not crowded.
When here to try Mangalore style food
ordered neer dosa with pomfret fish curry, the curry was decent, and the pomfret was cooked well ans it was soft and juicy.
Also ordered pomfret fry, this was also amazing. Each of the pomfret costed about 500rs. This i gues is not mentioned in the menu.
Also tried the prawns ghee roast, the quantity was less but the taste was amazing. This was also good combination with neer dosa.
Also has ordered squid crispy, this is a Chinese style preparation of deep fried squids. This was surprisingly awesome.
Also had ordered they fish thali, which contains boiled rice, two pieces of neer dosa, fish curry, fish fry, buttermilk, veg palya and a sweet dish. This thali was also good.
The total bil was 2200 out of which 1000 was for two pomfret dishes. They should mention the price in the menu for customers.
Overall a good experience with the food, would definitely visit again to try...
Read moreI was wondering why is the restaurant not busy on a weekend afternoon as I sat at one of the many empty tables. Our waiter suggested we order prawn ghee roast and neer dosa. We ordered kaane tawa fry as well. Both items were quite good and flavourful. Being emboldened by the good flavours, we ordered one chicken ghee roast matka biryani. It was served in a pot sealed with a roti. As it was served on my plate, I was eager to taste it. The first mouthful made me feel that it wasn't a good idea to order the biryani. The rice was little dry and smelled weird. It wasn't the ghee roast smell, it was kind of stale oil or something. Chicken in it was moist and tender though. The counter manager at ground floor was gracious enough to refund me the cost of biryani when I complained. Its a nice restaurant with good seafood but not for biryani. Service is good and polite servers. I would give...
Read more" Bhaale yele meen oota - Platainleaf fish meals " is the one liner that attracts you to this place. Fantastic one liner....But the food is not that good as the tag line.
The place is on the main road only, easily locatable from a moving car. No parking place.
They have Darshani kind of hotel in the ground floor and service at first floor.
The place is big and neat. Ambience is attractive with the decent wall paintings.
Coming to the food, we ordered Fish biriyani, Mutton Biriyani, Fish thali, Fish masala, chicken ghee roast and Parota. Only worth is Chicken Ghee roast, Fish meals is very ordinary and Biryanis are not good at all. Food served is not that hot. Even the biriyani and rice in meals were not hot. Service is very slow, not even 3 tables filled.
overall an ok ok place. If you like Fish n more of sea food, you can try once with lot of...
