Nammuru mangaluru
View: We are able to see Jakkur aerodome, flying practice planes(run way hard to notice as grass grown large)
Atmosphere: Nice cozy air cooled place. Light everywhere. no smoking inside. They will serve alcohol too if ordered.
Bill: (look for Service Charge as they are not good in this. Not attentive to customers and order was delayed as count is less. Just runs away) ₹1575
Amount: ₹1500 + ₹75(GST)
Boiled rice ₹95x2=190, Bangude Masala fry ₹220, Anjal tawa ₹550, Mangaluru chicken curry ₹250, Classic chicken kebab ₹250, Mineral water ₹40
Items were all fresh and we loved them. Fish was fresh and chicken too. Ordered delivered: First Bangude masala fry, anjal tawa. We had to ask for rice which took sometime to get to us. Chicken curry later. Last was the kebab.
Order Bangude masal fry: best Anjal tawa: top notch Rice: good Chicken curry: good (was served in a bowl with no handle. Hard to serve and spills over if we pour.) Classic Chicken Kebab: Okayish
Service: Order arrived early but we ordered chilled water instead of normal. Waiter took bottle on the table but did not come with other bottle. Had to nudge him for the water. Rice was served in a bowl with no grip and not enough for 2. Costed a negative star as we ordered for second bowl of rice had to nudge waiter thrice and other two waiters. Finally fourth one got the rice for us.
Service charge was on the bill and i asked them to revert which they...
Read moreAfter the Kudla on Intl airport road shutdown, we were missing authentic Mangalorean food in the North of Bangalore. Thru some app we got to know about this place and ordered food. It was yum. So we went to have lunch there a few days ago. The ambiance was simple but the service was top notch. And the food was a cherry on the cake.
The fish thali only has rice, fish curry, fried fish, ragi sweet, coconut chutney and curd. We enjoyed the unique coconut chutney and fried fish the best. It was quite spicy but the sweet in the thali calmed down our burning insides.
The only thing I was sceptical about was eating curd and fish. Perhaps they could put a simple cooling salad instead of curd with the fish thali. Otherwise everything was fine.
Update: We have gone there several times in the past much after my review. Now they don't have squid or mussels or dry bombil. They only have two types of fish. Most of the items we ordered were either out of stock or not available. The prawns curry served to us was fish curry with prawns in it.
The ghee roast was yum. The rava coat of the rava prawns was too hard. Not juicy at all. We couldn't taste the prawns.
Not sure if we want to go there again for a fish thali. Maybe we should call in advance and check all the items we want and then visit. For us, ghee roast, fried fish and neer dosa were good there. The...
Read moreI had visited this restaurant about a month ago and had a great experience. The food, service, and overall vibe left me very satisfied, and I was looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately, today’s visit for a special family occasion was a big letdown.
I ordered the same items as before, expecting the same quality. The lemon coriander soup was still good, but everything else went downhill from there. The prawn ghee roast and butter garlic squid, which were standouts last time, felt like completely different dishes. Both quality and quantity had dropped noticeably.
The biggest disappointment was the neer dosa, which was served cold. On checking with the staff, I was told it was prepared in the morning and stored in the freezer. For a Mangalorean restaurant, I expected fresh, warm neer dosa, not something pulled out of the fridge.
The ambience remains the same, but the AC wasn’t working well, which made the indoor dining uncomfortable during peak summer. To top it all off, the staff was quite arrogant and dismissive when we raised our concerns, something I didn’t expect from a place I once recommended to others.
Really disappointed, especially since I came back with high expectations. Hoping the management takes this...
