Located just at the corner when coming from Hitech City Road to Kothaguda Crossroad, Angaara Kababs on Charcoal is truly a gem of a place for students like me. The place provides delicious food with good portion sizes and that too at really affordable prices. Even with 2 dining halls, one AC and one non AC, lunch and dinner hours are so busy that at times it becomes really hard to find an empty table.
Coming to the food now, in my previous few visits I have tried the Chicken Biryani, Chicken Chili Garlic Noodles and their very famous Grilled Chicken. Chicken Biryani was quite flavourful and aromatic with a strong flavour coming from onions. Served with 2 big chicken pieces, the quantity is more than enough for a single person. The Salan served along with the Biryani was much better than what I have tasted at many places. Chicken Chili Garlic Noodles for the chili part has actual red chilies put into it so avoid if you can't bear too much heat. Noodles had severed left over pieces of some chicken put in instead of the regular fried chicken pieces so were a disappointment. The best among all was their Grilled Chicken. Whole chicken with the skin on marinated in the spices and grilled to perfection was pure heavenly to taste. The dish was served with a garlic mayonnaise and a...
Read moreOn my food Journey in Hyd, this was also close to my guest house, wanted to try biryani, so this was near with good reviews.
Got, Special Chicken Biryani(7/10): In Kolkata, a special chicken biryani contains 2 big pieces of chicken(leg or body) instead of 1 ( as in a normal plate ). But here it was 8 pieces of chicken 65. It was basically pakoras in biryani. The taste of rice was similar to chicken Pulav in Kolkata. A bong/bengali won't like this much. Taste wise, the chicken was bland. As a pulav it was average.
Double Ka Meetha(8/10): For Rs 50 they did give a decent quantity. It was Delicious! Very similar to Shahi Tukda found at Mughlai Restaurants in Kolkata, but sweeter.
Service(6/10): Not so good. Had to take the Biryani and Double Ka Meetha from different places. Biryani from Takeaway counter and the dessert from...
Read moreIt used to be a place for very good food at reasonable price. The main attraction used to be the veg and non veg platter. Recently the restaurant lost it's charm from all aspects. They have very less customer visiting them nowadays to recover the loss incurred, they are providing stale, completely spoiled food which we cannot eat. We ordered couple of dishes this time and none of them were fresh not even the chicken biriyani(considered as the most sold item) we had to cancel few orders(baby corn in starter, paneer was not good, Apollo fish was stale). And then we noticed that they don't have hand wash liquid, the calculator is not working, they even didn't provide a printed copy of the bill. Hope they come back...
