Coral Beach Shack & Coral Seafront Cottage — Restaurant in Karnataka

Stopped by this shack, while on my solo visit to Murdeshwar 🌊🌊, Karnataka

Their ambience was literally sea sided that there was a straight facing table positioned just opposite to the sea, a minimal 100 ft away.. !!!

Being a fan of the Mangalorean ghee roasts, I ordered the following

Prawns ghee roast - 4/5

Anjal fish ghee roast -4.5/5

Squid (BONDAS) golden fry - 4.5/5

All the above dishes were rightly spiced and aptly cooked with no foul smell and allergies post eating..

All credits to their boiled rice which went complementing to these gravies ❤️❤️

The only thing done wrong, was me presuming them to be "a not serving alcohol" restaurant, which later turned out that they do buy you beers from outside upon your preferences 🤐🥺🥺 (told by the owner himself)

Having just 4 tables with each surrounded by 4 chairs, it is quite a compact place, but no worries, it was almost empty but with only one family lunching there when I went inside. So I guess It is moderately crowded mostly.

Overall a good food - good mood kinda place..

The Coral Beach Front (Hotel) is located nearby Murudeshwar temple, one can take a long walk of 10-15 min. from temple. The hotel consist of 3 rooms as of now and unfortunately the Coral Beach Shack (Restaurant - for which we selected this hotel) was completely closed during our visit, so we need to step out for all food requirement, even for tea/breakfast.

The owner was cheerful and welcoming. He even arranged the early check in with a short notice period at no extra charges. However there was considerable delay in service. We opted for the 2 rooms for 3 days, and the condition of the rooms was good but no furniture available to keep luggage. The resort provides free WiFi, hot water facility and Air Conditioner which was working fine.

Came here cause of good reviews and deceitful photographs. Do not go here. Total rip-off for the price. The place is not a beach shack, but three boxes attached to each other on a yard with garbage and concrete slabs. There is no reception. The sea view is obstructed by a road with houses and heavy loud scooter traffic. Water bottle was only supplied after asking for it. There were not even normal blankets with sheets over them, but some plaids which are extemely likely not washed after each guest. Worst hotel experience during my India trip. Total scam. Please heed my advice and avoid this place.
