*The quality and the taste of food is good. *But the service is really poor. *They have different combos in which once I try parotta and chicken roast in which the gravy will be enough for 2 parotta. But when we order one more parotta we will need more gravy but they will not give additional gravy. *They charge around 30 rs for one additional parotta and not providing the gravy is not at all acceptable. Similarly the water can will be there but the glasses won't be there we need to inform them and wait for 2 minutes to get the glasses. *It's a tech area so most of the people will rely on this restaurant but they are running only for money making not for the customer...

Had been to Kumarakom restaurant at Guindy for lunch since we had some work around that area. We had the first surprise when we found out that it was self service - so had to order our food, pay the bill and then wait till our token number was called when the food was ready. Our next big surprise was when we got our food. It appeared the chicken biriyani was just some chicken gravy poured on top of rice, the chunks of beef chilly appeared coated in corn powder and porottas were not hot. My visit to this restaurant was a moment of epiphany of sorts. It doesn't feel like a restaurant in any way. It's like an industrial kitchen. You don't have waiters. Someone at the entrance gives you a bill and takes payment for what you need and then you go to the counter where a 'no-eye-contact' person delivers your order.

The absolute joy is excellent tasting hygienic food on a budget. I'd call it an excellent service to people working in the nearby IT parks for the quality of food.
