This is my worst experience in any buffet restaurant at Chennai. I had booked a slot of 12.30 Pm from Zomato for 1st January and reached at the correct time. I was feeling that I will be late for 10 minutes due to traffic but due to good driver I reached at correct time. I had given call to Absolute barbeque customer care and informed that I may be late for 20 minutes and requested to him to change the slot. Executive politely said that other slots are booked and not chance of getting any option for new year. He asked to speak with the Branch manager and had given me his number. I called him and told him the same issue, but Manager said that you can come any time and more than 100 persons are waiting. I reminded him that I have a booking through Zomato for 12.30 pm but he repeatedly said the same thing. Fortunately We reached at the restaurant on time , before few minutes and entered the restaurant. Some persons were waiting. I asked to reception person and told him about my booking. He had given a confirmation for the booking. He asked me to wait for some time. Few guest were waiting before me and they had a booking for 12.00 slot. In the mean time some guest asked to Manager that if they had booked in 12.00 slot whey they not get the table till 01.00 Pm. Manager was very rude and said that they can not get the table till 03.00 pm. As today is 1st January. A good hot talk started between so many guest and that rude person. In the mean time I got a message from Zomato that my booking got cancelled by the Absolute Barbeque. This Manager was cancelling the booking as some of the guest also got the message. I felt really red, and asked to the Manager for the same. He tuned the same music, I really felt the worst behaviour in the service industries, I literally asked to him that why the hell you had booked a table with my name if you had over booking (I am not a harsh guy but due to behaviour of Manager, it automatically came). He understood that any thing far will create a big issue. He offered me immediately seats for four persons. ?????????? My family was fortunate for getting seats then lots of other, who were still fighting. Food was not cooked properly. Barbeque had no flames, after 10 minutes on seat 1 waiter came with corn to serve. I asked them to arrange for the barbeque and keep the food. They came with two skewers. Each of them contained two numbers of prawns. We were four person and single prawns for each 😊. Waiting time was too high for getting something. Service was zero as per my rank. My son had given order for bread and waited for 25 minutes and in between three times we had reminded to them but nothing served. I had gone to kitchen and asked to them and waited for three minutes and got the bread and came back. Dessert was so much sweet. This much rudely behaved restaurant I had never seen. If this is over crowded also they can give some soft drinks to them but they had not taken any step. For food I had to call them by shouting then they were coming to table other wise service persons don’t even bothered to come to table and check the requirement. They were watching that we were seated without food but no one bothered.I had given him order for water or water bottle-paid also, but not came to my table. I had asked them mock tell as well for four persons which they said chargeable and I agreed but not came. Pathetic. I had booked through Zomato where I had a 10% discount, but this idiot manager was not listening to anything. You can get a single day sale from me and you have missed a lakhs of business from my side due to your behavior. Lastly customers are your guests and you are not the owner. The manager behaves like what I had seen is like an autocratic decision maker for your customer. Shame. I recommend working on the service part, which is required. I won't recommend anyone to check this place. Ambience - 1 Food-1 Service -0 Behaviour -0 Taste-1 Buffet menu-1 Atmosphere - Very congested Portion -1 Location -2 Price- High ( I had paid 4650 rs for 4 person without water and they ate my...
Read moreBeen a long while since we dined at a BBQ restaurant. Though things in and around have changed adjusting to the new normal, the service level and the quality of the food at the BBQ spot remained the same. Tried only veg for a change,
First up was the line of spicy veg starters; my personal favorite was the mushroom and the watermelon. Spicy pineapple too was spot on but on the whole, BBQ still misses out the twist when it comes to veg food. Nevertheless, Cajun potatoes and the fried corn kernels were too good to deal with.
On the sides were blue lagoon and virgin mojito to help with the appetizers. Veg stick with the corn cob was a mild disappointment since they weren't on par with the others.
Moving on to the main course were the favorite Rasam and the salad bowl. While most would jump directly to desserts, it is advisable to save some spot for the main course too. Their veg biryani was amazing with a great mix of aroma and spices. On the flip side, the woodfired pizza didn't turn out well since it was pretty plain. Overall, in the main course, the dal with ghee rice turned out to be the hero for the day, took the meal to the next level. To finish with was the desserts and tried out interesting combinations. The pastries and the cheesecakes were usual while the truffle rocked the floor as always. Their hot jalebi and jamun always goes well with a scoop of vanilla or mango ice cream. MUST TRY.
Chocolate rolls of ice cream with the paan and choco-chips were GOD LEVEL; the crunchiness with the mint and the rich flavor of the confectioneries were bliss.
Speaking of ambience, they have huge seating space perfect for parties and gatherings. Their service has always been top notch and they strive to maintain the same on all levels. Valet parking reduces our hassle while the prices have also been kept at their usual. Good to visit occasionally. On the whole, there were hits and misses this time at the AB, yet, would personally...

Free advice to all the future customers:
When you go for dine-in, never ever give up or replace your tables on anyone's request. If you wanna know why? Then read below.
We've been to AB's regularly in Bangalore as well as in Chennai. But the experience we had in this outlet was the worst ever so far. Food apart, the service, hospitality and the way of treatment was ridiculous. We booked a table for 6 and the branch manager requested to change our table to some other group. We denied first as we were not comfortable with the provided new table. All sides were closed and no space for the persons to serve. But respecting their request, we had accepted to change our table. While serving, they were asking us to stand everytime so that the person can serve us starters.
We called the branch manager and told we've accepted your request but we are really feeling uncomfortable now. We got a shocking reply that if we were not comfortable, then we have to split the table and have our food separately. Doesn't it sound so rude for accepting their request to change our table? He didn't even care to visit our table till we leave. We were really upset throughout and felt so embarrassed infront of our parents and made our day upset. I didn't find any fault in taste and quality.
I've been a person till date I always stand against the people who show their arrogance on the service providers and justify their action by saying that Service is nothing but the service employee should be bound to accept the customers' arrogance. After this incident today, I really felt that may be I'm wrong all these days. May be it's time for the AB's management team to teach their employees some respect and hospitality including managers. I hope AB's team will work on it....
