A turist trap
We came in the early afternoon. Only 5 tables were seated and the waiter staff just walked around tydiing up waiting for costumers.
The place itself is nice and placed in the main street of the turist area.
The restaurant is very big and has a open kitchen in a corner of the restuarant. I actually enjoy being able to see the kitchen at work.
It's advertised as an Indian restaurant, which was made my wife wanting to go here since she loves Indian food.
We were relatively quickly seated though the lack of costumers I would have expected them to have seated us a little quicker.
We where given a huge menu with not only Indian dishes but also Indonesian classic dishes, western burgers and nachos and at the last a whole section of Chinese dishes, which might be the reason why a table of Chinese diners were there at first when we arrived.
A such diverse menu always want me to find another spot since no chef can cook consistently this many and different dishes perfect.
As it turned out the Indian uptions wasn't avaliable. I guess the Indian chef wasn't at work today but it was also a Hindu holiday.
We therefore went for the indonesian classics. Since we could see the chefs all looked indonesian.
The 5 of us ordered three different dishes - fried duck, fried chichen and mie ayam - fried noodle with chicken.
I could see the chefs started cooking immediately they got our order. And after 10 minutes I could see from the open kitchen that two dishes rested in the heating area of the kitchen. It turned out to be our mie ayam. After letting it sit for 10 minutes the waiter decided to serve two of us out food while the rest of our group was left without food.
I let the food sit in front of me for and additional 5 minutes before my wife insisted on me started to eat before it got cold.
The mie ayam was fine though a little dry due to waiting on the hot plate in the kitchen. Even though I ate slow it wasn't until I finished the food for the rest of the table was finished.
And it wasn't worth the long wait. The duck was without any salt and the chicken was so overcooked that even the children eating it complained and pointed out that it was so dry that it had become grainy.
I would have expected that they would have done something to make us happy at the end of the diner but they charged full price and even added service to the bill!
This has sofar become one of our most expensive diners this time in Bali and by far the worst I've had in many years. You cook better at home than here and you will definitely get...
