We visited here last night, our first time. First impressions were that the tables were too close together, too many in a small space. We were seen to by our server quickly and drinks ordered while we checked out the menu. A great selection of great dishes which we chose starters and mains from. We both had Scallops & Beef cheek which was absolutely beautiful. For mains I had pan roasted Monkfish, two small pieces of which one was way over cooked and an effort to cut through. The meal was very nice but the fish should have been the star and let it down badly. My date had the Balsamic glazed Pork belly which was outstanding and 10 out of 10... we had one drink with our meal and waited 15min to try catch an eye for another drink. The young staff were either gathered around the bar or going down stairs to the pink bar. After 20mins without a drink I went up and asked for the bill. On a side note the room has a high ceiling but is small enough, there were two tables on the other side of the room who were very noisy and several people looked annoyed by this and the fact the staff were not asking them to respect others. €100 for a beer and a glass of wine. Two starters and two mains is not excessive but because of the fish, the service and the over cramped/loud room I would not recommend it as value for money. I was told by a local "Standards are slipping and they are trading on their name"... Please like 👍 and share

We visited on a Saturday for lunch and were seated in the dining area on the lower ground floor. The ground floor is the bar and tapas area which is quite small with high tables and chairs. The decor is really lovely and fresh with a bit of a French feel. We arrived at 12.30 and it felt as though they had just opened for the day as we were the only ones seated downstairs, so if you like a bit of a buzz I would suggest getting there after 1.30pm. Our waitress was really nice and smiley but it seems she was working upstairs for the tapas guests and for us downstairs as she kept running up and down. The food was so delicious! We loved all the dishes we chose (fillet of hake, confit pork belly, selection of sides) and also the gin cocktail was great. We realized they also offer afternoon tea, so looking forward to coming back and trying that. The only one thing I thought could be improved was the choice of music, the soundtrack playing was an old pop one, felt a bit more of a classier track could have been played like jazz for instance to make the whole experience well rounded. Would really recommend anyone visiting Malahide and looking for a top quality dining experience to visit Bon Appetit

Before booking, I noted that for Bon Appetit Pink that seemed to be a good place for a meal, that there were a number of not so good reviews. Now I know why. I booked a res the afternoon of our visit. We arrived about 10-15 minutes early. There was no one at the podium when we arrived so we waited a few minutes. We were seated in a mostly empty restaurant. Our orders were taken fairly quickly and we got our G&Ts. That's when service fell apart. A 3 top and 2 top who were seated after ourselves were served their starters before we were. Then the 2 top that showed up 20-30 minutes after we were got their mains before we did and the 3 top had already finished their mains. No realization of this gap in service. Indeed a couple was waiting at the podium when we left with the woman looking frustrated. Otherwise, our drinks and food were top notch so it's a shame that the front of house is so spotty. Ambience is a bit garish with pink neon signage and pink elsewhere in a nice house with beautiful ceiling medallions and molding. It's good if you're willing to risk the wait. Otherwise a good lot of other restaurants in town.

Came here for brunch and coild not say enough good things about the food and service. We orderd about 5 dishes between 3 adults and we were ecstatic about the delivery, quality and taste. The food was as goid/better than some 'michelen ' restaurants ive been too. We had the cod bengiets, tempura fish and some other dishes. Everything was outstanding. Shout out to John(manager of the restaurant). He was so accommodating and really understands his role in hospitality. His staff also exuded the same qualities. The cocktails were delicious also. The restaurant has the nice ambience of an old house that gives each level/room its own cosy atmosphere. I returned a few days later for dinner but was a tad disappointed. I ordered the pork belly. The skin totally missed the mark. It was neither crispy nor soft. It was an inbetween a sticky chewy consistency that didn't want to exit my back teeth. The gruyeer mashed potatoes lost the potato taste and were also very sticky 'paste' like but edible. Service again was excellent and cocktails too. I would still very much recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
