Cremeria Alla Scala — Restaurant in Ostuni

I have been to Ostuni and left just a few days ago. Obviously I have been to La Cremeria la scala and had the best ice-cream ever. I was also invited to the back of the shop where the "magic" happens, where the ice cream is made and a saw real fruit and real milk… no powdered flavoring or chemicals… For once, I felt comfortable with giving my children a second portion. What makes me sad are the comments of some fellow travelers that, disregarding the differences between our cultures (I am German/Italian living in the UK.) and the Italian culture (especially in the South), find the way to complain even if (for once) they get served generous portions rather than small ones. Italians and their food… They fix everything with food, Particularly with sweets, being the ultimate treat for poorly children… and adults. I am sure, they don’t mean to judge or offend anyone by serving a “special” portion, it’s their way of communicating empathy, like making room for a pram or a wheelchair… No judgments, just being genuinely nice human beings. I wish people in Notts would stand up in a bus and leave a seat to and elder or a pregnant lady… I am sure no one would feel judged or offended by...

Extremely friendly staff and with a great vibe we were welcomed. About to close for the day in a few minutes and still the staff received with with a smile on their face. Patiently waiting for us to decide on which flavor and mean while recommending a few of them. We got to try them all till we decided on which one. The place was empty and after our ordered we sat down on the terrace to enjoy the Gelato. The place got packed. Literally a line with 20 customers waiting.
