Beautiful place, terrible service
It all started with the waiter not being able to open our quite expensive bottle of wine and got cork in it. Instead of changing it right away he poured it up and we of course noted the cork and pointed out that he had to change it. After asking quite a few times for another bottle, while the first course was getting cold, the head waiter came up – not apologizing – but asking what was wrong with the first bottle! It took 50 MINUTES for us to get another bottle of wine! Waiters also dropped our bread on the floor without picking it up, left trash from the bottle right on the table, waited until our kid had almost finished her meal before coming with the parmesan she asked for. Needless to say we canceled our second course and left. Had really looked forward to this very exclusive restaurant as a high note on our trip, but it was our worst...
Read moreIt was just okay. The setting is beautiful but the food, unfortunately, is mediocre. Essentially, you're paying for the atmosphere. The restaurant does have a lovely interior with a mix of the modern and rustic medieval, with heavy wooden beams and tables and whitewashed stone. The service was prompt and the waitress was very cordial. But the food was disappointing, especially considering the price, which is very expensive for this part of Italy. For just a primo, contorno and a glass of wine, I paid €30. The pasta I had was cooked reasonably well but it was a bit oversalted and one note, and I was bored after a few bites. The side dish of "wild grass" was bitter and underseasoned. The salad was just lettuce with a single sliced plum. Even the bread wasn't great, overly dry. Maybe I simply got unlucky with my choices and the atmosphere is very beautiful, but overall I was...
Read moreA very un-inspired meal here. The setting is undeniably amazing, and the service was okay. It took over 25 minutes to get our bottle of wine out that we ordered.. The food itself wasn't even mediocre, it was almost bad. The Sheep ragu was off putting and the carrot raviolo was very uninspiring. The cost is high, especially when compared to the region. It seems interesting that they make your reserve this table, for this level of food quality. A let down to say the least. Also, the restaurant itself is fairly hard to find in the village, front door has no label or logo; so it feels a bit like you're pushing open someone's front door when entering restaurant. Save your time and money and...
