This is a hard one but well here we go... this was our first so so not so great restaurant experience in Japan. Food- given we are not big meat eaters the food was 3 stars. The pork dish sisig was ok, we did tell the owner (I assume) that we are more veggie heavy and she said she can make the dishes with more vegetables... that didn't really happen but that is ok! We didn't walk into a vegetarian restaurant. The second dish was pasta with seafood which I only tried a little bit of pasta and it was dry... yet again maybe not our jam. What was interesting is that when we walked in the person in charge asked if we wanted and English menu- we said yes because it'll be easier but we can work with a Japanese one too. We got the English version, and that's when we found our there is a 500 yen cover charge (it wasn't posted at the door or mentioned when we walked in) but that's ok. The English version only listed Corona as a beer option but when we asked for Japanese beer, we were told they had Asahi - which was definitely less pricy. I am not sure if and how the Japanese menu differs from the English one, but just sharing my experience. Also we were told there is a 10% charge for using a credit card...
