Izakaya Ikkyu Hon-Kawagoe — Restaurant in Kawagoe

Not a bad izakaya but I gave it two stars because if I think about whether I'd want to go here again the answer is "not particularly", maybe if there's nowhere better to go. It does the job for a standard izakaya: the food is tasty though, and they have a large variety of dishes to choose from! I asked whether they could put tapioca in my fuzzy navel and that was no problem so that was a big plus ^^ The staff was friendly too, but there were a few downsides. Firstly, the fact that - even though we are in the midst of a global pandemic - they still concentrated ALL the customers in one corner of the store (I presume because it's easier for the staff to serve that way...? 😐) instead of providing some sort of social distancing... Also, they had this system where you had to sign up in order to get food for the prices listed on the menu. Not much work or hard to do, but still "mendoukusai" 😉 The interior was not exactly cosy: very minimalistic so in my opinion this was not a place where you'd sit and relax for hours.
