Singapore Seafood Republic Daimaru Umeda — Restaurant in Osaka

We are singaporeans who have migrated to Japan, and were looking forward to some authentic sg food.

The laksa soup was great, but the noodles didn't go well and are not what we usually have in singapore. The crab was pretty nice, no complaints there.

However, the chicken rice was horrible 😫 the chicken was incredibly hard and dry, the worst I have ever eaten in my life. I looked at the chefs and wondered how they could actually serve such bad chicken. No joke. Rice was plain and not fragrant like how chicken rice should be. Accompanying onion dip was weird (we usually have garlic dip).

The rest of the dishes were not authentic. I understand if they have to cater to the local taste buds, but it was pretty far off from a singapore experience.

Service was not good. There was some hiccup and the lady server didn't seem to know how to help.

Food was average at best and very overpriced. The king sized/large crab were small crabs that make up the $100aud dish (¥9800). They weren’t fresh and they were tasteless. Service was unfortunately quite bad- had to ask for water, to order (after waiting a long time) and male waiter was rude when we followed up the order. The dishes came one by one in 5 to 15 mins increments and for a group of 8, we were nibbling on one dish while waiting for the rest of our order. This was the worst food and experience we had in Japan. Go elsewhere, this restaurant is not worth the calories,...

It's been a while since I last visited. The bak kut teh has a mild flavor and is delicious when eaten with fried bread. The chicken rice was average, but the Laksa that came with the set was very delicious. The chilli crab was delicious and tasted the same as the one I had in Singapore.
