We came here for lunch and it was such a lovely experience. Only one other party at the restaurant (locals). We spoke a tiny bit of japanese and the owner recommended the mixed katsu set (1350). It was already a big serving and the owners kept offering us and the other people food like fish, more miso soup, and curry. They were so so kind and generous. We tried the curry that they offered us and it was super good. I wish I could have spoken more with them, but it was mainly just “thank you!”, “it’s ok (大丈夫)”, and “おいしい！”. I think the man was very pleased that we were super full! Thank you so much for your generosity! What a happy restaurant!

A small shop but have car parking of upto 5 cars. The shop owner is an elderly couple but they treat you well with good hospitality. They speak Japanese only. So for easy reference, they kept the recommended menu in English where the photos of the fried combo dish is attached. The volume is more and tastier. They provide おかわり for rice and soup for free. Sometimes, they provide noodles and curry also as okawari. Must try when you visit shimoda in a small old shop. If you speak in Japanese, the grandfather treats you well with more okawari.

The cute old couple could instantly tell I wasn't from around here and recommended me a "mixed" dish and it was huge. The meat was so juicy and tender. I was already thinking if I could finish everything, but they were so generous and kept wanting to refill my curry rice/vege/soup/water. Lol. Just like my own grandma who won't stop feeding me. The atmosphere was really nice as they were chatting with all the customers, myself included despite the language barrier. Highly recommend.

大将がまだ50代だった20数年前から、年に1回～（多くても）3回程度の頻度で訪問していましたが、今回の食事を最後にしようと思います。大将いつまでもお元気でね。 ■要約 年にたった数回の訪問だけど、ここまで味とサービスがガタ落ちしちゃったら、もう個人的に行く理由が無くなってしまいました。最後の思い出がこのまずいソース炒めなのは非常に残念です。 サービスって別にお代わりの回数制限とかじゃないですよ。別に味噌汁とかキャベツのお代わりサービスが1回に限定されたのなんてどうでもいいんですよ、物価も燃料費も高騰しているんですし。 ■味 1-2年前からちょいちょいやたら揚げ物が焦げてたりと味が怪しいことがあったけれど、今回は普通に不味かった。 ■サービス 客ごとに「あなたは有料」「あなたはサービス」を使い分けちゃだめでしょう。 ■経緯詳細 2023年11月の頭に半年？1年近く？ぶりに訪問、いつも通り大将には「初めて？違う？じゃあ好きなもの頼んで！」と言われ、これまたいつも通り「んじゃミックスで」と注文したところ、「今日は美味しいお肉があるよ、唐揚げと生姜焼きのミックスどう？それがいいよオススメだよ！そうしなよ！いいよね？」と言われ、まぁいいかと注文を変更することに。 出てきたのは生姜の風味はどこへやら、ゴリゴリに硬い肉と玉ねぎをソースで炒めただけの、やたらしょっぱいソース炒めと唐揚げが出てきました。 こりゃキツイ、せめてマヨネーズで中和、、と思いましたが卓上にマヨネーズが1個もありません。あれ？と思って厨房の女将さんに「すみませんマヨネーズ貰えます？」と聞くと、「あー、マヨネーズ、、有料になっちゃうんだけど？」とまさかの答えが。なるほどこんなところにも値上げの波が来ているのかと「あー、んじゃいいや」とお断りして、とりあえず仕事のように食べ終えましたが、ほぼ食べ終わったあとで別のお客さんに「マヨネーズちょうだい！」と言われると、大将は「はいよ！マヨ出してあげて！」と女将さんに言い、女将さんも私の横で「はいどーぞー」普通に出していて、あやうく味噌汁吹きそうになりました。 写真のゴリゴリ肉のソース肉炒めを「生姜焼き」と言って勧めるのはどうかと思うし、あれを本当に美味しいと大将が思って提供しているなら、もう大将は引退したほうがいい。80過ぎて味がわからなくなっていると思うよ。前回食べたときにも「あれ？」って味に違和感を感じたのだけど、今回は違和感とかじゃなくて、食事として普通に美味しくなかった。むしろ不味かった。 そして女将さんも客見てコロコロと態度を変えるなら、せめて居ないところでやって欲しい。

It's HUGE, yes damn right huge. Run by super lovely couple, they don't speak English but they are very cheerful and smilling. [One thing to keep in your mind if you go to this place] Food potion is huge and they will be keep adding and adding food because they love feeding people lol. I got full and happy. One day, I'll come back.

私の評価は、低い方のクチコミ通り。 私の口には合わなかったかな。 私の連れはここを数回訪れていて、これだね！と言わんばかりに店主とのやりとりや、料理を満喫していました。 私の感想は、美味くないミックス定食。 揚げ物と、ご飯の量はありますよ。（ご飯の量は前もって適量を申し出ましょう） ご飯、固く、まぁ、こんなもので。 カツは焦げっぽく、パサついている、唐揚げも同様でどちらも肉の味付けに何も無い。さらにソースが？で、私の味覚に合わない。 かろうじてクリームコロッケ、フライ、ミニハンバーグはソースとは別に単独で食べて◯。ま、これが不味いなら「どんな店?」って感想になりますがね。 付け合わせの野菜、スパゲッティ、味噌汁、カレーの追加を無料で勧めてもらえますよ。 普通は、ソースとご飯を絡めれば「美味しーい」となるはずが、これがならない！味覚音痴の私ですみません。 初めての来店客に、店主が「(来店)初めて？」と、初来店のお客にミックスを勧めるパターンは本当でした。ただ、その日、店主は「なかなか手に入らないヒレがあるよ」と、それを初めて来店したという若い男女に勧めていました。二人は、店主の言葉掛けや勢いに笑いながら、「それにしまーす」と答えてました。パターンは色々あるようです。その後も、「ヒレ、美味いか！」「どうだった？」と、ためらいなく話しかけていましたね。2人は「とっても美味しいでーす」と言ってましたが、今の世の中、その人達の本当の感想はここに記載するなど測ることはできませんね。 星の数も、注文時の一般的なオーダー手続きしか受け入れられない人と、ここの店主の様な料理の勧め方や店主とのやり取りを楽しめるかでここの評価は違うでしょうね。料理を「押しつけられた」と思い、好みでない味わいの料理と感じるか、店主からの半ば強引な言葉掛けでも、そのやり取りを楽しめるかで、味とは別に店主や奥様の人柄に対する好みだと思いました。
