Kakuno-san and his wife have been operating this business for over 8 years now, after more than a decade of training.

A very friendly, accommodating and very skilled chef, Kakuno-san served delicacies like ankou (angler) liver, kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) and kohada (gizzard shad), which is one of the hardest sushi to prepare and to get right. There are no guarantees you will have the same items presented as he only serves fish and vegetables that are in season (and thus the freshest).

His style is a good mix between traditional and modern cuisine styles, but he mostly served us items that were traditional (the fish on rice).

The cups, glasses, plates and bowls were all great to look at, and were all carefully selected by Kakuno-san to enhance the aesthetic/ambiance of the place.

It was a thoroughly enjoyed experience that lasted over 3.5 hours, so you need to make sure your schedule is wide open.

Also they only take reservations here, no drop-ins. He says many people come down and unfortunately have to be turned away at the door.

Kakuno-san, thank you and your wife for the wonderful experience. We will never forget it....

Very intimate place with one private room and a sushi counter that seats 6. The restaurant is located on the basement level of the building. The entrance is to the right of the main entrance. Omakase style, no menu, but we were not disappointed. Don't worry, you can always order more if you still have room at the end. The sushi chef expertly prepared each piece and watching him prepare each one was wonderful. The topping/netta were huge and the rice portion was just right, not too big not too small. The whole meal took about 2 hours. Highly...

The chef met us at the top and confirmed if there was space for us. This place is private and can only seat 6 people. You will then proceed downstairs. Very intimate. Tried the omakase 10 piece. Each piece is hand made in front of you and served one at a time. One of my favorites was the barracuda. We also tried sweet Sake which complemented the sushi experience. If your taste is high caliber and you want tradition sushi then this is it. Had a wonderful time. I say...
