Claypot and hotpot are frequently a hit and miss I think. Many factors go into the experience. One of the points I enjoy in this place is the air con. Our tropical weather just makes eating hot food sweaty and uncomfortable. At least here it's cool and comfortable.
Ordering is fairly easy and the menu is simple. The main dish should contain one soup which you can then order additional add ons depending on the size of your party. I ordered 2 kinds of soup which arrived in a yin yang pattern split bowl.
The pork belly soup was delicious and I fully recommend you try that. It's thick, well flavored, aromatic with perfectly cooked pork belly. Perfectly seasoned with pepper, it's one of the more delicious soup I have tasted.
I didn't enjoy the herbal soup though. A bit over bearing in its herbal component, the taste needs time to get used to. But having said that, it does give a break from the heavily flavoured pork belly soup. Therefore when you switch among the two soups, the change in taste gives it an enjoyable contrast.
Their condiment station gets a thumbs up from me. Clean with freshly cut spring onion, coriander and garlic, it's one of the more inviting condiment stations I have seen.

Read moreLatest experience during RMCO... They had changed owner... food quality almost the same as before but are more expensive now and bad service... not kids friendly compare to previous team... a family of 4, 2 adults 2 kids... cramped into a rectangle table with hotpot in the middle and not allow to take a bigger round table as the staff just don't care... no extra space to put kids' essential bag and no place to keep stroller back in car... many tables were empty thus had to put the kids' essential bag at the chair at the other table... new customer came in and the staff guided the customer to that particular table while there are still many empty tables around and told us to remove the kids' essential bag as customer want to use that table... no more next time at this restaurant... miss the old management whom used to be so friendly and making the place an often...
Read moreMy wife and I randomly ran into this place on MacAlister Road and it looked packed at 7 o'clock at night on a Wednesday. We walked in and ordered a claypot which was split into with half being herbal soup chicken claypot, and the other half being special taste chicken clay pot. The herbal claypot chicken was delicious and very medicinal with lots of ginseng and ginger. The special taste chicken claypot was out of this world. Truly a phenomenal dish. It was incredibly savory with a thick brown sauce. That was a perfect mix of Szechuan and Malaysian flavors, Spicy and deeply satisfying with an insane umami flavor. Hard to describe but absolutely delicious. Total bill with a bottle of filtered water and glass of herbal tea came to Rm164.70. $38.27 USD. This place is highly...
