Pros: (that contributed to at least giving them 1 star) All staff, including the Supervisors are attentive, smiley, and generally pleasing in service. Pork bone soup and steam egg were good, above average for sure.

Cons: Their so-called main signatures, the smoked pork belly and smoked beef ribs were an incredible let down. Considering their hyped-up reputation and the higher price point they dared to go with, everything about the meat was just off. Smoked pork belly was dry (and we mean zero juicy) and marinated in a rather unsavoury sauce (perhaps this was just our tastes but we can reaffirm that the flavour was definitely not authentic-Korean flavour, and seems to have been tailored more to Chinese or localized). Beef ribs were over-cooked and also had the similar unsavoury flavour. Both meats were cut into children-sized bites. The meat took more than 40 minutes to be prepared and served after the first dish was served (the pork bone soup). We do not know what their planned sequence of serving the dishes were, but they missed out our steamed egg. After we reminded them about it, steamed egg was served in collapsed form; a sin for this dish, even more for these price class of restaurants. We ordered dessert, only to be kept waiting and then finally being informed 15 minutes later that it was unavailable, despite the supervisor/head service staff confirming our order mid-way by returning the order confirmation slip 5 minutes after our order. This in our observation demonstrates a complete lack of communication between the kitchen and front service, as they had multiple opportunities within that time period to inform us it was unavailable after ordering on their web system. This is also the first "fancy" Korean BBQ restaurant to charge for serving water and does not provide wet wipes; just highlighting that this was unconventional.

Yet another disappointing unauthentic addition to the vastly expanding influx of so-called-Korean BBQ industries in this country. Perhaps we were not the target customers, as this seems to only suit unassuming tourists with low...

’ve had the pleasure of dining at Gu On twice now, and both visits were nothing short of incredible. The highlight of my experience each time was the attention to detail in every dish, coupled with their impeccable service.

Starting with their seafood and kimchi pancakes, the flavors were absolutely explosive. The pancakes had a perfect texture, and the sauces served alongside elevated the dish, creating a harmonious balance of flavors.

The real standout, however, was the perilla cold noodles. This dish blew me away on both visits. The combination of flavors was unique and intense, with every ingredient perfectly complementing each other. What impressed me even more was the consistency—each time, the taste was exactly the same, which is a testament to their commitment to quality.

Their banchans (side dishes) were another highlight. Not only were they delicious, but the fact that they offered free refills made the whole dining experience even better. It was a perfect complement to the main dishes.

While Gu On is known for its KBBQ, don’t sleep on the other dishes. Each one felt meticulously crafted, with every element well thought out.

Lastly, I can’t talk about Gu On without mentioning their top-notch service. A special shoutout to Mr. Darryl, who not only provided excellent service but also gave us some great recommendations for future orders. We’ll definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

FYI ( i only took have two pics from the first visit; the kimchi pancake and perilla...

🔥 @guon_koreanbbq Gu On Korean BBQ has earned a solid reputation among Korean BBQ fans, especially for these standout points: 🔥 What’s Nice About Gu On Korean BBQ: Premium Meat Selection They serve top-quality cuts : especially their premium wagyu beef, Iberico pork, and marinated galbi (beef short ribs). Every cut is fresh, well-marbled, and melts in your mouth after a quick sear on the grill. Thoughtful Service The staff here are attentive and will help you grill your meat to perfection if you like. Service is consistently praised for being prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Authentic Side Dishes (Banchan) Gu On serves a generous spread of classic banchan, including kimchi, pickled radish, potato salad, and marinated vegetables : all refillable, with flavors that balance and complement the rich meats. Comfortable, Stylish Ambience The space feels modern yet cozy, with well-ventilated grills and private booth options — perfect for gatherings without leaving smelling like smoke. Signature Dishes Aside from BBQ, their Kimchi Stew, Japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), and Potato Pancake are excellent sides to round out your meal. 📍 GU ON Korean BBQ - The Exchange TRX .
