I recently visited your shop this morning and had a wonderful experience. The shop has a charming ambience, true to the Silver Bird Hong Kong trademark. I ordered a Polo Bun and Butter, along with a refreshing Milk Tea (no sugar) to go. I must say, the bun was delightfully soft and fresh, and the butter was incredibly creamy. As for the milk tea, I am at a loss for words to accurately describe the heavenly taste that lingered in my mouth.
I am a Malaysian. This is perfect for me as opposed to the rest of the Malaysian prefers, stronger flavours, and almost to everything. Sweeter and/or saltier which I wouldn't not recommend to those prefers stronger in every dishes. This is perfect the way it is now, please don’t change. Otherwise, it would be the same as our local Old Town and/or Papparich - what's the point?
However, I do have one piece of advice for improvement. From a distance, it is not immediately apparent that the shop is open for business as the doors were shut. It would be beneficial to keep all doors open, perhaps with the addition of fans, so that passersby can easily recognize that the shop is open and inviting. This simple change would attract more customers and enhance the overall experience.
Thank you for the amazing food and drinks, and I hope my suggestion can contribute to the continued success of your shop.
Too late for me to snap a picture of...
Read moreStrange experience. Was outside looking at the menu and a member of wait staff came outside and told me this is a Chinese restaurant, then gestured to the bento restaurant across the plaza and suggested I go there. Perhaps she assumed I didn't know what I was looking at (I'm european). Not a great start but having lived in guangzhou previousy I was in the mood for some Cantonese style food. Once inside my husband asked for a cream soda and was told there is no stock. He gestured to the fridge to be told it was not available. There was also a case of them on a shelf behind the counter, after asking about these, we were told these were expired! I would be interested to know the restaurants reason for storing expired products on the shelves? I ordered a simple vegetable fried rice and for takeaway and was very disappointed. When it arrived you could see it had clearly just been fried in oil. I am aware that Cantonese food has a more delicate flavour, however at least a little soy sauce (and ketchup for hong kong style?) is needed in a fried rice dish! I asked about the lack of colour and was told this is how it's supposed to be. Funnily when I asked the waitress if it came with egg she said no, lo and behold when it arrived it did indeed come with egg 😅.

Read moreI have been a loyal customer of Silver Bird HK Restaurant since its opening, but the food quality has been deteriorating with each visit, leaving me extremely disappointed.
Today, I ordered a fried egg with minced beef rice and specifically requested no spring onions. However, what I received was not minced beef but regular beef, and it was cooked with a generous amount of spring onions. The dish lacked any authentic Hong Kong flavor and was far from what I expected.
I also ordered a satay beef rice noodle soup, but the rice noodles were so hard that they seemed undercooked and difficult to chew. I asked the staff to cook them a little longer, but they reheated both the noodles and beef together. As a result, the beef became tough and chewy, and the noodles still had an unpleasant texture. The entire dish was disappointing and difficult to eat.
For a restaurant that prides itself on Hong Kong-style cuisine, the declining food quality is truly frustrating. I sincerely hope the management will take this issue seriously and improve their food standards; otherwise, it will be hard to continue...
