Overall: An excellent option for people who are looking for plant-based food in KL. I've been here for multiple times now, the food and vibes were good, staff was friendly. Recommended for people who are staying at Four Points or people who are exploring the area and looking for plant-based food options.

Staff: I was a little concerned about the staff service before visiting, because I didn't have pleasant experiences during my visits at The Hungry Tapir because of their rude staff. The Hungry Tapir is the other vegan restaurant that is owning and running LaGula. Surprisingly, the staff at LaGula during the time of my visits were extremely friendly and helpful. They were recommending the event happening that evening, there's also one time the staff handled a drink that we accidentally spilled with grace. Which was very different from the treatment I've gotten at LaGula.

Ambiance: The huge floor-to-ceiling windows, and the beautifully designed space is perfect for different numbers of people for different occasions. There's outdoor seating area, indoor area with tables and also the big staircase that's good to chill at. The music being played wasn't too loud, which was perfect to me.

Food & Drinks: I've tried quite a number of food and beverages there, and so far I don't remember anything that I didn't enjoy. The pizza was great, the beverages tasted good too.

Getting Here: Train: It's very easy to get here from the Pasar Seni MRT/LRT station. Grab: Getting here through ride hailing services is also straight forward. Parking: Though I've never drove here before, the nearest parking is at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, which is where the restaurant situated.

Restroom: If there's one thing I didn't like, it is the experience of going to the restroom. Due to the restaurant is situated within the Four Points Hotel, guests will have to use the restroom at the hotel lobby, which during the time of my visit there, the restroom was dirty and had a strong stench from poor maintenance. I wouldn't recommend to use the restroom there, especially if restroom cleanliness matter to you. It stinks so bad and I felt like I was going to throw up even though I've already put on my mask because of how bad it smelled from...

I had an amazing experience at LaGula By The Hungry Tapir when I visited for Friday night cocktails with some friends. This place exceeded all my expectations, and I'm delighted to share my positive review!

Firstly, the "buy one get one free" promotion on cocktails was an absolute steal! Not only were the drinks delicious, but this offer made our night out even more enjoyable and budget-friendly. Who doesn't love a great deal on fantastic cocktails?

The ambiance and decor at LaGula were top-notch. The place had a trendy and chic vibe, creating a perfect setting for a fun night out with friends. There was even a DJ playing tune after tune. The attention to detail in the decor really added to the overall experience and made us feel welcomed and relaxed.

Now, let's talk about the customer service - it was beyond outstanding! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm smiles and promptly seated. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations based on our preferences, which further enhanced our evening. We felt well taken care of throughout our time at LaGula.

The cocktails were crafted with skill and precision, and the flavors were delightful. Each sip was a new experience, and we couldn't resist trying a variety of their unique concoctions. The bartenders clearly take pride in their craft, and it showed in every drink they served.

LaGula By The Hungry Tapir is now my go-to place for gatherings with friends. Whether it's a casual night out or a special celebration, this gem of a restaurant and bar ticks all the boxes. The combination of great drinks, a lively atmosphere, and impeccable customer service creates a memorable experience that's hard to beat.

I wholeheartedly recommend LaGula to anyone looking for a fantastic spot to enjoy delicious cocktails and good company. Thank you, LaGula By The Hungry Tapir, for making our Friday night unforgettable! You've earned a well-deserved 5-star rating, and I can't wait to...

My last visit to LaGula was a bittersweet experience. While the main course and side dishes we ordered hit the mark, the cakes were a complete letdown. And no, I’m not one of those who try a cake once and declare it a disaster. I’ve been a loyal supporter of Lagula’s cakes—I even chose them for my own birthday and have lost count of how many times I’ve recommended them to my vegan friends.

Unfortunately, the cakes during my last visit were shockingly disappointing. They were so dry they tasted like sandpaper. Even with the kind server’s help in heating them up, the damage from the dryness was beyond repair. When we informed the server, we were told that the cakes were made entirely from vegan ingredients and that dryness is sometimes unavoidable. While I understand the server was just doing their job—and we don’t blame them—the explanation didn’t sit well with me, especially as someone who has long enjoyed and promoted their cakes. My confidence in them was immediately shaken. I could be wrong, but my guess is the cakes had been refrigerated for too long, stripping away all the moisture.I'm not a Karen by any means. I’m sharing this feedback because I want to continue supporting LaGula. I want to keep recommending their cakes to my vegan friends—but if what we were served that day is what they’re offering now, I would humbly suggest they consider removing the cakes from their menu altogether.P.S. My friend had originally wanted to celebrate his birthday at Towzen, a place he loves for its vegan ramen and desserts. But I confidently persuaded him to go to LaGula instead, raving about their heavenly cakes. So you can imagine my disappointment when we were served cakes that genuinely had the texture of sandpaper—and I’m not exaggerating.

That said, I still think La Gula is a great spot for dining. The service, ambiance, and main dishes were all satisfying. But based on my last visit, the cakes are in urgent need...

We went to this place twice, first as a takeout for just a simple dessert and second for a full dinner. The place has very cool sitting area and good vibes. Outdoor seating as well. Lots alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and beverages. Lots of meals and desserts as well. If we thought THT which is literally a minute or two away was good, this is even better. First the desserts. Mango Cheesecake - the best cheesecake we have ever had vegan or not. And this is not understatement. The cashew cheesecake didn’t taste cashewy and was perfect sweet and mango was just mind-blowing. The Pain Au Chocolat good. The Dark Rich Chocolate Cake was divine. The Tiramisu was it was meant to be. Rich cream, coffee and lady finger cookie type base. Just amazing and to die for. Steak and Mashed Potatoes with mixed greens and BBQ sauce was good. Steak was good and had a unique stringy texture. Mashed Potatoes very good. The Diwali Thaali was a surprise that it was still available and was not in the menu, however the server suggested and we went for it. The mutton rendang was amazing. The rest of the curries very good and they were spicy - South Indian/Sri Lankan spicy. The vegan yogurt was something else. Never had vegan yogurt so close to the real thing. Some curries a bit greasy. I hate going to restaurants like these! I want to try everything on the menu and I can’t in one or two visits. Wish it wasn’t 15k Kms from us.

Really unique Christmas experience here. We feel pranked like we’re in December fools. First I booked a table a month in advance, but they gave us the uncomfortable table. I asked to have a proper table but they said it was booked. When actually the whole time we were there the proper tables are available. Then they brought us the dessert before anything else. Then they brought the main dish (cold). I complained. Few minutes after, they bring us again the dessert and the main dish again, both microwaved (wet). Still not the starters. Which I accepted because I’m too tired to complain again. When they finally bring us the starter, it was microwaved too (horrible texture). When I finally asked to bring the dessert, he really needed to reassure that we haven’t had it. They don’t do the job well as a good looking restaurant supposed to. Not enjoyable, not worth the time, energy, and $40. Yes they apologized..but Christmas is just once in a year. In the end they brought a proper dessert and hot chocolate that was tasty and (not microwaved) + the carbonara was really good! And they gave us a macaroons for apology, but would be nice if we get the Carbonara as complimentary instead because of how terrible dinner experience we had this time. 🥲 I never put bad reviews before, but this needs to improve. 🙏🏻
