Jan2024 - Always have this restaurant in my mind whenever i travel to Kuala Lumpur. Missed the ambiance and the service Samira provides. And this time, wow, the food and its presentation wow the group of 6 that came for a dinner outing. The presentation, the taste and palette of the food was really amazing. Samira had also offered some really great wines to pair with food. We had a bottle of Gewartramine, a rose and ended with a bottle of Bordeaux red. Absolutely fantastic!
I read some reviews on the toilet, but i find that the toilets had been cleaned-up amazingly. Must be the team had acted on the reviews and have the toilet done up. Kudos! Would always recommend.
Heard that the nagashi somen is coming back soon. Can't wait to try this again the next time i'm back.
Jan2023 Back here again after a year. Amazing lunch spread with my friends and associates. Had Samira’s Tom Kha, a Tom Yum soup variation from Northern Thailand. 😋 can’t find another restaurant in KL that can do such a good Tom Kha. Star dish of the day for me 😊 Of course we had the Chili Lime River Lohster 🦞 too, which makes us want to have more and more.
Absolutely love the ambiance in this restaurant. Nice, cozy and romantic. I was there on Friday evening when it was pouring heavily. The staffs were very friendly and courteous recognizing my clothes was wet, and brought serviettes/napkins for me to dry myself. While I didn't get the place I reserved (at the garden side), the manager arranged a nice place on the balcony for me and my companion to enjoy the cool breeze and ambiance. Tom Yum clear soup was extremely welcomed sight to warm us up. Great service and great food. Also, managed to capture a video of the ducks circling the lake during the heavy downpour. What a...
Read moreHad great expectations for this place but everything was just so average for price paid. Taste wise u can probably get much better tasting authentic thai food from your neighbourhood thai restaurant. Service was really pretentious but ineffective.. what I mean by this is lots of ppl around and none really coordinated or doing their jobs properly. Poor command of english and it almost felt like we were in a diff country trying to get locals to understand what we were saying by speaking really slowly... We ordered the sweet and sour fish.. fried well but sauce was lacking. And taste wise just blend And nothing spectacular. Papaya salad was just ok as well. No real tang. Soft shell crab for an extra rm15 I think was a bit of a let down. Salted egg sotong apparently their famous dish was under cooked and when we told the manager or owner that there was still a strong fishy smell her reaction was to say that's how it taste instead of worrying about the quality or safety of her dish. She offered to refund but we were like, can u like at least cook it more to see if ok. Coz it's still raw. To which she obliged and it came back much better. But u can see the process was messy and a proper restaurant would have taken it back. Offered to cook a new dish again or at least gotten the chef to check the dish. Poor hospitality. Fish cakes. Tasted frozen and store bought. And real expensive. Mcktails are so small and not worth it. Lemongrass chicken also was so small and not worth the price at all. Stay away from this pretentious place. Unless u got...
Read moreMade reservation for my anniversary dinner at 7pm. Due to heavy rain and jam, only made it by 7.30pm. Parking was horrible as lots were not allocated for dine in customers. Had to park near KLPac and walk in the rain. When we approached the restaurant, we were not greeted by anyone but had to go to the front desk ourselves and told them about our reservation. Staff looked blur at first and when I asked him why no parking were allocated for me even though a reservation was made, he just showed me the big table that was accommodating a dinner for about 20 pax.
Well finally after settling down at our table, order was made. We booked the spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, cashew chicken and their clear vegetable tomyum. Food was not delicious. Fried rice had turmeric taste and prawns were not devein properly. Cashew chicken had more sauce rather than chicken and cashews while the soup tasted like vegetables soaked in hot lime drink. Only the spring rolls were acceptable. We have eaten more delicious Thai pineapple fried rice outside which is way more cheaper.
Table was only decorated with a few flower petals. One particular staff from Bangladesh was really good. He was helpful and even helped us to take many photos of ours. We decided to leave early as we were not so happy with the service and food. Expectations were high...
