Personally I wouldn’t recommend this place. We came here because it has high star rating with a high number of reviews. After coming here and having their food, I suspect high number of reviews is from their “review us and get a complimentary Chawan Mushi” promo. The food was quite disappointing (2 sets of Rosu Katsu). The other restaurant (another reviewer also mentioned that place and I completely agree) is much better taste wise and quality wise. The white rice here (no options) wasn’t great, and the katsu itself has the hard crispy exterior rather than the enjoyable light crispy texture. Service was not too bad (as there were not many tables occupied anyway 😅). Basically would not recommend this place unless you don’t really like the other place and would like to give this place a try.

Another disappointment by tik tok video food recommendation. Should have stick to google map genuine reviews. It is not worth the price charged. It is below par. The meat pork portion is small and thin by tonkatsu standard. The breaded part is not light, fluffy nor uniform. The meat tend be on drier side. It is not juicy nor succulent. The chicken tonkatsu portion is right as compared to pork. It is juicy. But the chicken taste is too strong and a bit weird. The worst of all is the Buta Kimuchi Nabe. Only few slices of port belly packed with lots of cabbage. The Nabe taste bland with Kimchi single flavor only. The Buta Shogayaki was OK. The onions well cooked and caramelized. But the main should be Buta not the onion.

I ordered the rosu katsu set as I normally do at other tonkatsu joints. The meat was lightly breaded and fried to crispy goodness. The porky meat itself was tender and flavorful enough but could have been juicier in my opinion. I find the meat to be more satisfying to taste in my other fav tonkatsu place and the batter is also lighter and more airy but still crispy. In here, they serve their sauce with sesame which the waiter/ waitress will help to grind them for you (in my case at least). The shredded cabbage and soup are refillable as you would expect from other tonkatsu eateries of similar setting. In summary, this place serves decent tonkatsu meals but I will stick to my regular tonkatsu place.

Received warm welcome by the manager. They merged the tables for us promptly as we dine in large group. The manager explained the menu and on top of that, he also recommended us alternative choice if we dont feel like eating katsu dishes. My breaded pork loin in the katsu Don was so juicy. Just that I think it would be nicer if they could pour more runny egg on top of the katsu. Love their brown tea! If you ordered set, rice, soup and cabbage can be refilled. The staffs all all attentive and polite. The manager being very thoughtful enough as he checked with each of us if we're allergic to yam cuz we have mochi side dish. Will definitely come back.

The dining experience at this establishment was not satisfactory. Upon arrival, we noticed that only one table was occupied, and we requested to be seated at a sofa seat. However, our request was denied by the staff, who stated that the sofa seat was reserved for parties of four or more. We then ordered the salad salmon, but the vegetables were mostly old. We requested extra salad sauce, but this request was also denied. The only staff member who seemed to be doing their job well was the male foreign staff. All the female staff members had sour expressions on their faces and were clearing plates in a noisy manner!!

The katsu was not as yummy as its look tho. The meat is abit rough and not fluffy when its fried . At first tot its maybe similar with the mai mason which is not so sorry. Still prefer the later . Server never offer refill of vege nor soup nor rice till we saw the banner when pay the bills . But the fresh sesame grinner with the bowl is better can smell the aroma of sesame . Dressing of sesame sauce for salad is chargeable for the 2nd time . What?! They dont even offer for the 1st plate. 🫢 Anyway the vege is too fine and texture just not the same . Place is clean. Hidden restaurant in bkt jalil pavilion.
