Back at the same food court tonight—this place is slowly becoming our second home. . We tried: Bak Kut Teh with Yam Rice – RM17 (Furthest stall from the mee hoon kuih & Ching satay ones) Rich, salty, flavorful. Nothing extraordinary, yet comforting in a familiar way. No complaints—just a warm bowl to end the day. . Ginger Mee Sua Soup – RM10 Thick broth, but the ginger kick wasn’t quite there. Maybe it’s not the cook’s fault—climate, soil, and time change everything. That’s probably why we always say, “food tasted better back in the day.” Progress comes at a price, and sometimes, that price is flavor. . Will we come again? No doubt. It’s nearby, it’s consistent, it’s homey. . Will we recommend it to friends? No need lah—everyone already knows where to find this place. 😄 . . JSE@20250704 . A Solitary Afternoon, A Forgotten Paradise I didn’t expect much. Just happened to walk into this food court while passing by. . It was only 3 PM — most stalls were still closed. For a moment, I doubted whether I came too early. But after checking the opening hours, I realized— this was simply its moment of calm. . And strangely enough, it was this very stillness that quietly won me over. . 🌀 The fan gently spun. 🎶 Soft music flowed. No clatter, no chatter—just peace. . I ordered a cup of coffee and sipped slowly. My mind felt like it had been softly rinsed clean. Unlike a café, there's no “price of ambiance” here. And yet, I had a quiet corner all to myself— to write, to daydream, to simply be me. . Food options were limited—just the drink stall, bread and buns. But that was enough to fill my stomach, while I waited for twilight— when more stalls would open and the air would fill with the aroma of dinner. . What a lucky little encounter. Now I know exactly where to go for my next lazy, stolen afternoon. . . Your next secret spot for economic afternoon tea. ☕️🍞 JSE@20250704 . Satay — Juicy, Tender, and Worth Returning For . I ordered 10 sticks of satay from the stall near the dessert corner — and it didn’t disappoint. . The first thing that caught my eye? They actually serve it with real ketupat, not the usual convenient nasi impit. That already earned them bonus points in my book. . The satay itself was juicy, tender, and grilled just right. And the peanut sauce? Thick and flavorful — just how I like it. . Will I come again? Yes, of course. This has officially become my second favorite dish, right after Mee Hoon Kuih. . As for the rest? We tried some Thai food from another stall — not really impressive. My friend couldn’t even finish the noodles. . . JSE@20250421 . I’m a regular at 甲88吃喝天堂 D'Tank Paradise, but there’s only one stall that keeps me coming back—the mee hoon kuih stall. . For just RM6, they serve a hearty bowl of mee hoon kuih soup, packed with a generous portion of pork. It’s comforting, delicious, and served piping hot—just the way I love it! . As for drinks, they’re slightly on the pricey side, but that’s understandable given the town location. . Whenever I’m craving mee hoon kuih, this is my go-to...

Read moreWe chance upon this place to take a break from Nyonya and Baba cuisines. As we were moving around Melaka hunting for food, we came across quite a few large food court. So we decide to pick one that is vlose to where we stay i.e. Atlantic Residences.
This food court is not the largest that we have seen in Melaka, but looks vibrant. It is D'Tank Paradise.
Overall this place offer above average food, not the best, but convenient to get quite a number of food, especially when you are taking a break from nyonya baba food.
We tried the following:-
Kuey Teow Th'ng - The soup base is bit sweet, but overall ok. What made them loose some points is the kuey teow. It's too thick and not smooth enough.
Fried Loh Shu Fen - surprisingly, the wok hei is very good and the taste full of umami! This is a must try when you are here.
Fried Oyster Omelettes - long queue and the queue is worth it, especially when you have other things to eat while waiting. It is aromatic, and the batter is not overwhelming. You can even add other toppings like prawns etc.
Rojak - above average as the variety of fruits given is fresh and the sauce is balanced.
Claypot Bak Kut Teh - this is a no no.
The desserts - above average.
Next on target - We saw claypot pig trotters, but didn't try. It looks delicious. Probably next round when we are staying within the vicinity.
Entertainment - Last but not least, at this food court, you will be entertained by live singing by "ok" singers. Not the best, but good enough to entertain with good choice of songs.
Ventilation - this is one of the few food court management that uses brains when constructing their food paradise. The ventilation is superb with a giant fan right in the middle of an open courtyard drawing fresh air into the food court. Very good! Our clothes did not smell food...
