Was stoked on trying the Grilled Lamb, but was faced with a typical stinky potential. Ala carte hours are from 0800H to 1600H. After that, for dinner (1700H to 2359H), and that's when the Grill and Steamboat buffet starts.
A steamboat cum grill plate, spells disaster for hair and clothes. Was hungry and decided to go for it.
I would have given a 1 star rating, but why be biased, when the service was indeed warm and welcoming?
Food was limited. Lamb was definitely sliced without proper care, causing it to be extremely tough. An off-cut meat on a grill is a good workout for the jaws and teeth.
Flavour of the regular Lamb and Blackpepper Lamb, were mediocre at best.
Lettuce leaves were cut so small, it was almost impossible to do a wrap, sans Korean meat wrap. Did I mention that they were far from appetising? Wilted and limp.
Tomyum base for the soup was ... How should I put it ... Thais would probably question on how did the restaurant convinced themselves that it qualifies as Tomyum. It was sweet and diluted. If they were to throw in some Kaffir Leaves and Lemongrass on top of whatever their recipe is, they might pull it off. But for now, I'd rather have a bowl of Tomyum Instant noodles to bluff myself that I'm having real Tomyum. cough cough
Complimentary drinks were just not real looking. Bright yellow, pink, red, dark purple .. It's unreal. Clearly syrup was used, and I was expecting the Strawberry beverage to be a notch better than the rest, Corn, Grape and some wildflower. Nope. I was wrong.
For the price of RM39.90 per pax, I don't think I should be that harsh, hence a 3-star rating.
As mentioned, they salvaged the stars with their great service.
Please remember. Taste buds differ from people. I'm just giving my humble opinion. Same could be said of...
Read moreThis place appeared to be very popular so we went early to secure a seat. It is a buffet-style steamboat and grill concept where you can choose from two types of soup - spicy (tom yam) and non-spicy (non-spicy selections in most restaurants are chicken soup, but here they serve "sup-bunjut" which goes well with meats, but not seafood in my opinion). We opted for non-spicy soup but disliked it and requested a change halfway. The meats (ranging from chicken and lamb) are all marinated in a similar manner (tumeric, soy sauce, bbq, sweet black sauce) so it really depends on your preference. Limited seafood choices - prawns and clams. The clams were not fresh, and the prawns are of the cheap variety. They have a selection of vegetables and mushrooms, as well as processed food such as fishball, tofu, fish cakes and the like. There are noodles and rice for those who must have carbs - the nasi lemak sambal is quite tasty. For those regular steamboat goers, you will be disappointed to find limited dip choices (there are 3 options, we tried the black pepper and thai chili sauce). You are required to pay (RM39 per adult) prior to being seated. I do not think this place lived up to the hype, however considering the selection of places to eat in this area, it is one of the better,...
Read more-Guests: pls wait for your broth water boil to eat. It’s for your safety We were seated at 9:30pm but not until 10:15 the water reached its boil after we poured out 75% water of the bowl pan. Looking around most of tables ate raw, guests just dipped the seafood and raw meat in half boil water for a while then eat 😬. We couldn’t do like that so we waited for boiling, ate some noodles and veggies and grilled meat then left. Cons: queuing long, insufficient capacity of steam boat stove, refused to give out one more stove or change the grill plate after it turned black with food, limited variety of veggies ( in Cameron?) , the japanese seating area looks cheap and not clean, run out of ice cream , pricey (we ended up happily with other not hype restaurant in town , organic produce 25rm per head) Compare to Sukiya ( 🤪) 50rm per head this TAC is way left behind. Pro: nice garden, dishes are washed with hot water, attentive staff ( however they seems overwork, can’t make decision so we didn’t want to bother them) SUGGESTION: Please locate a manager, and change your...
