Black Camp — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Food was slow to arrive and staff not well-trained, however I understand that this could be due to insufficient staff. However, the food wasn't good - Pork ribs were too dry, like eating cardboard. Overall taste of everything else was average to below-average. Definitely not worth coming here for the food.

The ambiance and deco is nice. Unfortunately when we were here on 26/02/2023 between 7pm-8:30pm, there were a few tables of people who were drunk and got into a quarrel/ fight. Two men were having a stand off and after a long stand off one man was led outside, but eventually came back in, and was going in and out a lot, almost bulldozing an elderly lady walking with a cane. Another lady with this drunken group was wailing extremely loudly and causing anxiety to all the diners. The lady was led away and unfortunately led to a curtained-off area right behind our table, where we were treated to an hour's worth of wailing, crying, shouting etc, which we could hear even though there was loud background music that was playing in the restaurant. Needless to say it was an extremely unpleasant night, at one point we were worried that things would be thrown around and we would be in the line of fire as we were right next to this area that was curtained off.

As a business serving alcohol, your staff need to know how to serve alcohol responsibly, and handle customers that have had too much to drink. These customers should have been asked to leave immediately, instead of allowing the whole group to still linger at their tables, and then the other half of the group lingering in the curtained area, disturbing and worrying other customers in the restaurant. (UPDATE: SAW FROM ONLINE RLY GOT GOOD SUNSET!!!!! I MISSED IT BCZ OF YALL!!!) Mix feeling, most feeling is negative. At 1st, the day B4 I visited. I WA requested upstairs & socket seat for me to use laptop with my reservation. They said only downstairs got socket. Then once I arrived . I still said I reserved upstairs seat. Bcz i can use my laptop later as I oso wanna hv my dinner with a sunset view. Then a lady staff said upstairs all booked with those 3 pax. This is a part where y'all are sooo messed up. I wanted upstairs then y U telling me this?! The staff said downstairs got a corner socket seat for me. I got no choice but to go for that. & WHATS ACTUALLY WORSE IS I VERY FAST SPOTTED A SOCKET UPSTAIRS!!! YALL LYING TO CUSTOMER OR WHAT??? First time visiting Blackcamp and the overall experience was pretty good. The place has a cozy, industrial-camp vibe with soft lighting, making it a great spot to unwind in the evening.

There was a live band performance when we went, which really added to the atmosphere. The music wasn’t too loud—just the right volume to enjoy while chatting and eating.

Food and drinks were decent. Not a huge menu, but enough variety, and the drinks (especially the watermelon and yuzu) were refreshing. They also serve beer by the bucket, which is great for group hangouts.

Service was friendly and efficient, and food came out in a reasonable time. It does get crowded later in the evening, so booking ahead might be a good idea.
